Happy saturday :)

Recommended Posts

I've had an outside day today as its been so nice.

Eglu had a complete clean out first for a while. Scooped out loads of compost from my composter, the chickens loved it, worm heaven for them.

I threw it over my borders and they spread it about for me :D

Cars washed and the windows :D

Now we are all drinking hot chocolate and eating our way through the christmas chocolates with a lovely roaring fire going :D

We're going to snuggle up on the sofa in front of the fire with a good DVD or two - looking forward to it  . It's been a bit of a horrible week but things are very much brighter now :D .

Hope the knee isn't too sore after the physio. Take it easy, enjoy your Saturday evening and accept plenty of pampering  !

Sorry Lesley and Kate, have to meddle in the conversation. We had a lovely saturday too, bought a new pump for the fishtank and my hens enjoyed an 11 C day sunbathing. They enjoyed their grapes as well. Nice tips.

Just a personal questions, does any of you mind if I meddle in the conversations :?:

And how in earth have you two managed to send 8000 and over 5000 posts?

You must spent hours in this forum. I takes me ages to read all the new topics,my husband starts to wonder what this is all about

I did my first day on my plumbing course today, it's only basic domestic plumbing, so I'll just be able to do domestic maintenance, not install central heating systems by the end of it, but it was fun. I can now strip down a tap, change washers and know how to reseat a washer if needed. I can also strip down a ball cock, know the finer points of how a toilet cistern works and should have a reasonable working knowledge of where and how water comes into the house. I've also learnt all about stopcocks 8):lol::lol:

Since then I've done a load of washing, glorious day today so it's all dry, so my evening is going to involve that ice skating TV programme, a pile of ironing and a bottle of red wine.

2 eglu's, 2 cars and one rabbit hutch have also been cleaned today, but Imogen did those for me, and an excellent job she did too :D:D

Hubby's birthday tomorrow, so I fitted in some sneaky shopping, and am looking forward to a very nice lunch tomorrow. MIL couldn't decide what to get him, so asked if he'd accept lunch at a very nice restaurant close to her as an alternative to a pressie. Fortunately the invite includes us all, so I'm anticipating a good feed up 8)8)

I am having a lazy day today. I have just woken from an afternoon nap & am feeling refreshed & ready for the evening ahead.

Tomorrow I will be devoting most of my time to nagging The Hubby to get the outside Chrtistmas lights down & put them in the loft along with the tree decorations

I am doing some baking (Shortbread) & will potter about dusting in my dressing gown :D

We went to the farm shop for food, and bought yet more chicken wire to make our pen better as the chickens can currently escape.

Left chickens sunbathing but came back to relieved Trinny (white chicken) on her own as Susannah (white chicken) had escaped next door through the hedge.

Neighbours weren't in but we tried their side gate and it was open! They are the unfriendly neighbours that make lots of noise, we heard one of them say "bloody chickens" the other week outside and think it could have been about our two. :x We don't THINK they have escaped before.

Watching TV all night, John is doing a ceilidh and I'm apparently not going to cheesy club night I was looking forward to.

Oh well, hi to Kazaddress and everyone else who is about on forum tonight. Hope your knee gets better, enjoy the chocolate, Thorntons chocolate is very nice I was brought up on it.

 Swisschick, we love it if you meddle in the conversations! They are for everyone to join in, just for a few minutes or several hours!

Yes, my husband does wonder too, and walks past clucking when I'm on the forum. We're just chatterboxes!

But, we love you to join in, and do tell us more about yourself, & chickens, in Switzerland. 8):D

I am sitting here with a big box of tissues, a mug of hot water with lemon in it. 2 glasses of cold water. A mouthful of G&B's chocolate, 2 paracetamol - had to resort to drugs boo hoo, and am stuggling to control the coughing - think I will have to get OH to get another bar out of the fridge when this one has gone, or I might cough!

Feel like a caged tiger as I am an outdoor - always on the go person. Still OH does share everthing with me so should't complain about the bad bits. He made me honey on toast on my home made wholemeal bread when he came back from bowls.. The toast was a bit scratchy, but never look a gift horse in the mouth.

Got out in the sun to see my girls who are brilliant - a hat trick of eggs today. Sat and watched them sunbathing in the covered dust bath. A bit of jostling for poll position right in the front - Ginger got booted out and came to me and whined through the fence. I told her that she had to learn to stick up for herself and give as good as she got - so after a few minutes of plaintiff whingeing - she gave up, went back and scratched up so much dirt over Adelaide, who was shaking her head like you do when you get an ear full of water, that she eventually got up and walked out in a huff - sneezing the dirt off herself. She shook herself like a dog, then spent ages preening. By which time I had to go in to do lunch.

Spent an hour putting my seed potatoes in boxes to chit, and looking out of the studio window at the girls having fun with the cabbage on a cane - it was swinging about like the Swing ball game of years gone by.

Off to have a surf - then early night with a book.

Rather dull prospect for a Saturday night.
