BeckyBoo
Despite the severe weather warning he's announced this morning that he's off to buy the timber to build the chicken run! I'd kind of given up hope as the Battery Hen rescue is next Friday and Saurday but the weathers been so foul and he was busy last weekend so I'd resigend myself to the fact that it wasn't going to get done. Sooooooo excited!! Mrs Bertie Edited December 9, 2007 by Guest

Christian
Good ol' Mr Bertie!! I bet you can't wait until its finished!!
BeckyBoo
Have to say, that was based on looking out the window when, although it was gusty it was nice and bright. We seem to have slowed somewhat no the rain is going sideways and we've had to switch the lights on. So having done him a full cooked breakfast I might hold off on the lemon and lime cheesecake I was going to make him for after his roast! little chickadee
I'm glad I'm not out there in this weather. Make sure you do keep some bribes for later if rain ends play!!! Good luck
BeckyBoo
well sadly it's not going to get finished today which means no battery hens for me next weekend as he works until past dark every day. He should finish it next weekend which will give the bantams and the big girls time to get used to each other, I'll wait til the next rescue. it's a shame but I've always believed things happen for a reason and there's been quite a few things that have happened to stop us building the run in time. There's obviously chookie hens in other cages that are waiting for us, never mind, there'll be good home for them here eventually (it's going to be a fab run too - I showed him a picture from here, will find out who's it was, it was the one someone had a tradesman come in and build - and he saw it as a kind of challenge so he's copying that. It'll be 4m x 3m which is 12ft by 9ft and 2m tall so I can walk in. I can hardly wait!) Mrs B
