WINTER WARMER BREKKY FOR CHICKENS 1 cup of layers mash a dash of oyster shell and grit a pinch of garlic powder dried mealworms to taste Mix first 3 ingredients with warm water. Then sprinkle mealworms in bottom of serving dish. Next spread the warm layers mash mix carefully over the mealworms, taking care to hide them all. Serve whilst still warm. PS. They don't get this every day - somedays they just get the dried mash.
Christian
PS. They don't get this every day - somedays they just get the dried mash. You wicked Woman, not giving them that every day! I do the same but with a sprinkling of sweetcorn and grated courgette!
iChicken
I'll have to try it one morning. Out of interest, how much garlic powder should I be putting in their food? The instructions on my pot of garlic are for horses! I fill their grub half way and add half a teaspooon of garlic powder. Is this enough? I'm worried about garlic flavoured eggs! One Man Banned
I think you spoil your hens I gave the "laydees" some cornflakes softened with warm water on Wednesday as it was bitterly cold. I think I was their best friend from the noises Still I have been giving lots of treats to them recently as I'm home a lot more with them.
