Oliver Twist.

Timothy Spall is a good actor but his "acting" accent in this programme is appalling! it just makes me want to laugh!!

It is pretty bad isn't it. Doesn't sound very believable.

I only caught snippets of tonight's episode, had the girls in for pizza so we were chatting through most of it. I think I got the Father figure wrong though in the first episode.

Monk isn't Olivers father but they are related the clues were in episode 3 I won't say too much as it will spoil it for you all

in the end I thought it was a rubbish ending.

I didnt believe that sykes would have hung himself....he wasnt that sort of person.

I prefer the old storyline (the black and white film version). I liked watching the costumes/sets but found the story uninteresting and unbelievable.

I was disappointed too Chelsea. I thought Fagan's accent was too unrealistic, I agree about Bill Sykes, and I did think it got weaker towards the couple of episodes. I lost interest really. I think had it been shown as one full length drama it may have been more successful. I think it lost it's impact being spread over 5 days.

Why not.

This sort of thing is a real eye opener!

One of my sons auditioned for a part in the Life and times of somebody or other ...can't remember who, years ago when he was about seven. He got through about 4 stages. They were particularly interested as his brother, who was about 18 months old looked so like him that he could have played the part of the "baby".

Some one else got the part eventually.

Anyroad up....it was interesting to note the competitiveness of the parents and the obnoxiousness of some of the more "stagey" children.

Go for it, but expect to be treated like cattle, and take plenty of refreshments and books as there is a lot of sitting around.

Good luck. Nothing ventured, nothing gained.
