craftyhunnypie
Hi - can anyone recommend any good DS Lite Nintendo games that aren't all shooting / hitting / racing!!! I've got Brain academy, brain training 1, My Sims & Sims Castaway. I was thinking of getting Zoo Tycoon, Harvest Moon, Cooking Mama or Thrillville 2. Has anyone got any of these or has any other games that they think are good? Before I go & get one of the above games. Thanks Emma.x

Has anyone got any of these or has any other games that they think are good? Before I go & get one of the above games. Thanks Emma.x My son is a games expert! He says that the above are all equally as bad! He recommends Animal Crossing Wild World as a good game of this type. I used to play on it a bit. I loved the Golden Sun games but they were for the game boy advance and can be used in the DS. Can't beat pokemon either!
Goosey Lucy
Hi Emma, I'm afriad I haven't got any of your possible choices, I don't like shoot-em-ups and racing games much either. I've got Picross, Drawn To Life and Mr Driller Drill Spirits. Picross is a logic game, you have to uncover the picture hidden in the grid. There are numbers around 2 sides of the grid to tell you how many squares are coloured in, you have to use logic to work out which ones. Sounds boring but is addictive. See here: http://www.amazon.co.uk/s/ref=nb_ss_vg_h_?url=search-alias%3Dvideogames&field-keywords=Picross The other two I received on Christmas Day, I've played Mr Driller on the pc, a simple game where you have to drill down to different depths taking care not to get stuck, squashed by falling blocks or run out of oxygen. see here: http://www.amazon.co.uk/Mr-Driller-Drill-Spirits-Nintendo/dp/B00068VQ2C Drawn To Life is basically a simple platform game where you take on the role of Creator to help a village. The twist is that you have to draw lots of the things in the world such as the main character, sledge and other things my brain can't remember. See here: http://www.amazon.co.uk/s/ref=nb_ss_vg_h_?url=search-alias%3Dvideogames&field-keywords=Drawn+To+Life&Go.x=8&Go.y=6 Hope they may be of interest. Martin B
Zoo Tycoon is a brilliant game. I got a DS for Christmas and I got a cooking game and bee the movie game! HMV have got quite a few at £15 in their sale. Sims is good too! Oh, Oh, Oh and Brain Training!
craftyhunnypie
THink I'll get either zoo tycoon, animal crossing or drawn to life (that looks good). What are zoo tycoon & animal crossing actually about??? Building a zoo or something? Not sure what animal crossing is though? I'm looking in Woolies tomorrow. Argos was chaos today, don't fancy going there in a hurry! Amazon have good prices! Thanks Emma.x
susanbb
I have been "Brain Training" since 25.12.07 Yeeha Any other games like that please Dear sweet OH got me DS lite for Christmas ,but was sooooo apologetic that it wasn't PINK
craftyhunnypie
Awww - mines white, but I have a pink blister case to keep it in & pink accessories & spare stylus ! I'm quite fascinatwed with mine. Sims Castaway is very good. A bit irritating as you have to remember where you find things on the island & revisit those places day by day to build tools, find food, make clothes, build shelters, do tasks for others on the island to win tools & gain access to other areas. Watch out for the theiving monkeys though. I love this -I like challenges & I feel like I'm on I'm a Celebrity...get me outta here with this game!!! I'm going round the island wearing a pigs mask at the moment!!! Emma.x
Snowy
From what I can gather from son (in Neanderthal mood at the moment ) Animal Crossing is about moving into a town, paying off your mortgage, get money by selling things (or finding it in trees etc), improving your house (can feng shui it!) and the town you live in. Different things happen on different days as well (ie can only sell turnips on Sundays). Kept him amused for a while anyway (no chickens in it though ) Now that would be a good game - who's going to write to Nintendo!
craftyhunnypie
Sounds quite interesting!!!! I think harvest moon has chickens????!!! Emma.x
Martin B
There is a DS game called 'Shoot the Chicken' and that is exactly what you have to do! In Zoo Tycoon you have to build a zoo, look after your animals and all that whilst also making a profit on the business side aswell.

Chickpea
I have a ds lite too! I can thoroughly recommend Animal Crossing, keeps you going for months if not years! You have to catch and collect all sorts of insects, fish and fossils for the museum as well, but only certain types of bugs turn up at certain times of the year. The seasons change in it also and there's all sorts of village festivals to attend. I'm sounding a bit sad now so I'll stop! Harvest Moon is good too, though I prefere the gamecube one, and Mario Kart is a good racing game!
Laura007
there is a games compilation called 42 all time classics thats good.
craftyhunnypie
I ended up buying Harvest Moon in the end. Animal Crossing was out of stock. Thanks for all our help. Emma.x
smudgley
My girls (9 & 11) love cooking mama - although I think it's a bit boring They love purr pals & animal pardise. They like simpsons too. The other one they are always playing is tamagotchi. PS - best money we ever spent was on those consoles
Sarah 2
42 all time classic is my favourite game. I would vote for that one like Laura
redfrock
Andy bought me a Nintendo Wii for Christmas (at the proper RRP ) which was a fantastic surprise. Now I have my very own marriage wrecker (that's what I call the XBOX 360 that I bought for him last year, and which isn't really my thing). I have just bought some games from www.gameplay.co.uk for it - they are good value, free postage and this code gives you £5 off a £30 purchase - dt7aquwhf and you can use it more than once! (ie. seperate purchases). I used it yesterday. Hope that is of use to some of you Oh and powerplay seem to be quite good value on some games as well
jomaxsmith
My boys love Lego Star Wars (on both XBox and their new DS Lite) which is admittedly a shoot em up but is very funny as well. Jo
