Ain't Nobody Here
I've been collecting plastic bottle tops for our art teacher but she has zillions of the things now so doesn't need any more. I've been a bit shocked at how many the "average family" gets through and throws out. As I've got into the habit of saving them I was wondering if anyone knows if there's any way of recycling them or anyone I can give them to? susanbb
One of my work collegues collected them a while back in aid of getting someone a wheelchair. I've known hospices take them aswell . Hope that helps.
Couperwife
I heard about the wheelchair thing, and was told it was a hoax. is it valid then? if so, we have loads cathy x
pelicano
If it is a hoax, there are plenty of people collecting them for it! Someone who worked at a hospital near me was even collecting, so I'd assume/hope they knew if it was a hoax. I can actually recycle mine with the plastic bottles now - our council has increased the different types of plastic that it will pick up. Ain't Nobody Here
Thanks everyone . I'll do some research for my area now I've got some ideas of where they can go. It's only when you see buckets and bags FULL of these bottle tops that you realise how much they build up to. Landfill must be full of them. susanbb
My collegue contacted me and said that her local hospice and some of the hospitals were still interested in them. [/b]
