One of the chickens chases our daughter around the garden when she's wearing her pink coat so I'm sure they can see colour.

I don't know about colour, but I have read that they don't have enough of the cells in the eye that enable them to see well if at all in the dark.

Thats what I have heard too Egluntine. Thats why they take themselves off to bed when it gets dark........other wise they couldn't find their way!
