ChookieCaz
We can't make between 5th and 12th August, unless it is near the Sidmouth/Exeter area! However, I think we might still be able to make 19th August or after. It'll be such a relief when there is finally a date as we will be able to check our diaries (or in my case, the callendar as no-one gave me a diary for Christmas), and know whether we are or I hope our family will be amoung many who are I'd like to meet other chookie-owners
Hellcat
miserable old grd - boo hiss We'll just have to have another get together down on the South Coast for him what a fab idea! I'm in. What about weyheymouth somewhere? Or Farmer Giles Farmstead at Teffont?
ChookieCaz
We know of a very nice little guest-house near Weymouth, if they are still doing B&B. However, if it were near Bournemouth, we could go for the day.
Hellcat
Bournemouth would be good too. Need to look at a map and fix a point.
Chicken on a mission
Would it be better to go a few miles inland so that it is easier to get to? Mind you, a get together on the beach would be very nice
The Dogmother
That's unless it rains So are Mel and Helen organising this one?
ChookieCaz
Near the pier in Bournemouth may be pleasant, but I think parking may be expensive. However, if we did go to the beach, nearer Alum Chine is good and there is a certain amount of parking along the roads. The beach is still lovely sand. Also, there is a play area and sometimes a paddling-pool at the Alum Chine beach + the Chine and somewhere for refreshments. For those without children, there are also some gardens that you can walk through and it is walking distance to a good guest house that we have stayed in when the children were younger. Of course, inland does have some advantages. More people may be able to make it as a day-trip and parking might be easier.
The Dogmother
Traffic queues might be less if inland too.
ChookieCaz
"Traffic queues might be less if inland too." Yes, you have a very good point there.
Guest
It depends when this get together is. Traffic isn't usually a problem before and after the warm weather. We haven't mentioned a date idea yet.
