Tessa the Duchess
When you get some stupid song going round and round in your head for days Last week I had Tanita Tikaram (sp?) that track about sobriety in my brain for about 3 days, and today because I look after my grandson a couple of days a week and he watches Cbbs in the morning I've got 'Whats the story in Balamory, wouldn't you like to know" Aaaaargh. Snowy
A brain worm, thats a good name for it, never heard of that before. Now Tanita Tikarum would be quite good. It might replace the theme from Thomas the Tank Engine
The Dogmother
That's the problem when you've got smallsters isn't it? You end up singing dire stuff to yourself. I knew it had happened to me when I knew the names of all the Teletubbies
Tessa the Duchess
You end up singing dire stuff to yourself. I knew it had happened to me when I knew the names of all the Teletubbies It is really embarassing. Found myself singing "I'm the Map, I'm the Map" etc., from Dora the Explorer the other day. I've also be known to sing "Can we do it, yes we can" from Bob the Builder I hope it's not premature senility setting in Tessa
clucky1
All I know is that I was recently dragged to a village quiz night and I was failing mysef embaressingly when a question came up "What is postman pats sons name" and I knew the answer ! - Unfortunatly I then was so happy that I made a plonk of myself further by saying the name a bit too loudly
PennyTikkaNoodles
Think its actually called an 'Earworm'. Comes from a literal translation of 'Ohrworm' in Germany.
Tessa the Duchess
Think its actually called an 'Earworm'. Comes from a literal translation of 'Ohrworm' in Germany. That makes sense, thanks PTN. Perhaps a brain worm is when you keep on having the same thought Tessa

One Man Banned
Thanks Tessa I now have balamory in my head thanks to reading this thread! Don't know that one but I now have "Tinky Winky, Dipsy, La-la Po" going through mine!! Must snap out of it - going to Salsa later and I certainly won't fit the steps in with that! Couperman
That's the problem when you've got smallsters isn't it? You end up singing dire stuff to yourself. I knew it had happened to me when I knew the names of all the Teletubbies I once had to don a Chemical suit to do an inspection inside a large pressure vessel that had contained nasty stuff (concentrated Nitric Acid). This suit was disposable, with hood and it was bright YELLOW. One of my colleagues who obviously had smallies, decided to draw a TV on the front of it, I didn't get the joke at the time cos I was a bit La La.
