Right Girls - Hair washing and not doing it with shampoo

Recommended Posts

I haven't used vinegar or oatmeal yet and don't really feel the need to what am I doing wrong

My scalp isn't itching and although my hair feels very thick it doesn't feel or look greasy :?

I fact when I run my hands through what comes off on my hands makes them feel really soft afterwards like a hand cream almost

I am on day 9 today is the oatmeal just around the corner I wonder

Well done you lot, and what beautiful hair Ginette :D

I was meant to rinse last night, but ran out of time getting ready for my hols, so it feels a bit claggy today despite looking fine. I wil rinse again tonight and try to stay away from the shampoo until hols.

BTW, I am away from Saturday afternoon until Monday 10th, so I am unsubscribing from all these posts in an effort to keep my inbox reasonably clear while we are away, I will definitely be joining in again when I get back, if not before I go away.

My head has felt quite itchy today and I am looking forward to washing my hair tomorrow. My hair doesn't look too bad though, just feels it.

Day 17 completed! I think I'm doing well but 17 out of 90 isn't very much really is it? It must get easier though because our hair won't suddenly be transformed magically overnight on day 89! :)

I hope everyone else is OK and still going strong! :D

:) You're such a sweetie, Ginette, I'm still in! Used oatmeal today, & you're right, it does help the appearance. Although, I'm not sure if the dusty white look is quite what I need

I'm fine, I just need a bit of confidence, but I intend to carry on. My problem at the moment is that I'm fearful of being expected somewhere, & not getting it right before I run out of time. But, I think it's just practice, and it is early days! Haven't had any itching at all. Just weird hair.:wink:

I just rinsed again with water last night I find I have to wash the night before as it looks better when its had time to settle still no vinegar or oatmeal though :?

The white towel I used to dry my hair has a sort of yellowish mark on it though so I think that is the excess oil residue - not pleasant but I only noticed because the towel was white

I am not finding this hard at all and not having an itchy flaky scalp is wonderful :D

Well done Louise. Day 10 and still no problems. I'm really pleased it is going so well for you.

I'm on Day 18 today, feeling quite dirty and planning a vinegar rinse this morning. I've found when I scratch my head  that there is still quite a lot of oatmeal there. Maybe that's why I'm itching! :?

Day 18 is 20% of the way there :? Not sure how reassuring that is! :? 25% will feel better!

I am wondering if the reason I don't feel too bad is because I normally wear my hair tied back so I am not aware of the oilyness :?

I notice it in the morning when I give it a really good brush but that is it

It certainly doesnt look dirty and I keep checking my brush to make sure it is not smelly :oops::lol:

Well today is day 21....and ....my hair isn't feeling very nice :( . The oils are about 12 inches down my hair, if you run your fingers along its length, it'a oily like sheeps wool. On a possitive note :) it doesn't smell horrid or look that bad. It's psychological, i just feel DIRTY :!: i'am not giving in, but the shampoo's calling me. Right off to rinse it ...going to try vinegar :)

I'm sure tying it back helps. I can remember saying in those first two weeks that I could tie mine back and it looked really good because the grease helped it to look neat and not have bits sticking out on my head! It didn't look dirty either unless I wore it down. Now my hair is always clean enough to get away with it being loose. :)

I never wear my hair loose Ginnette

Think Crystal tips

This is why I am doing this as I am fed up of having frizz instead of sleek hair and shampoos even the ones that claim to work don't so this can't be any worse can it :?

Stay strong Anne. I hope the vinegar helps. I can remember saying exactly that - feels greasy like sheep's wool - but mine doesn't feel like that now. The oatmeal will sort it out if you get desperate.

I thought it was too good to be true, obviously it's going to get harder again :(

I hope you're going to be thrilled with the results Louise, come June ( :!::shock: ).

I certainly haven't suffered at all without conditioner on my hair. I suppose without the shampoo drying it out, it just isn't necessary. :)

I am still using conditioner on the ends Ginette without it I wouldn't be able to get a brush through the mop and that seems to help to spread the oils but it was lower down than the last time I rinsed so I am getting there I just need to start using yellow towels now
