Louisdog
Yes, please try it! We want to know if it's as good as it sounds before we rush off and order one! Bit of kerfuffle with Roomba this morning, he was doing the kitchen then went to dock but somehow his docking station was not against the wall properly so he must have ended up pushing it around, eventually it got wedged under the table but he still couldn't dock cos it was a funny angle, we found him circling it in quite a panic. Poor Roomba!
Egluntyne
My docking station is up against a wall. Poor Roomba!

chocchick
poor roomba OH is home feeling poorly but looking more by the minute. Scooba is not in our good books yet. It produced puddles all over the kitchen floor and the warning light stayed on despite trying every possible thing we could and it made a noise like an alien spaceship bea . After getting rid of the blue tank warning light it circles outwards then finds a wall and keeps struggling to move and squeaking like a demented gerbil Maybe our floor is TOO dirty (and wet from the puddles it produced )
Louisdog
Oh no! I hope you have more like with it on its second outing. I was hopeful that I wouldn't have to manually clean my floor again after reading your report and rushing out to buy one, not that I mop it that often anyway The puddles don't sound very good, I thought it was meant to squeegee it dry. Hope it was just teething troubles!
Egluntyne
Oooh....not goood! How disappointing. Maybe it was on Ebay for a reason!
chocchick
She supposedly had 2 and only needed 1. OH is now "where is the turkey baster?!" it has a mini turkey baster to do something to the pump. Apparently demented gerbil=drying mode. If you press clean twice it goes into drying mode for the end of the cycle. I got a video of it at work and was going nicely, but it then ran out of water (probably due to leaking it everywhere). Hopefully OH will work it out soon So far it is spreading dirt which the video promises it doesn't do Our floor is getting cleaner but it is quite wet. Cinnamon
You lot are a really bad influence. I just ordered a Sonic Scrubber from lakeland & a Roomba seems to have slipped into the shopping basket too. Now,before I hit 'CHECKOUT' is there anything else 'essential' I need? Egg-perfect for boiled eggs and a diablo for fried eggs! Oooh, and what about an actifry?!

chocchick
It is doing better now. Adding more clorox solution seems to help it detect that its tank is full. It is now happily working round our kitchen after a bit of a top up and seems to be doing well. What can I say Sarah
Egluntyne
Keep us posted!
Louisdog
Yay to Cinnamon for ordering a roomba Ooh what's a diablo?! I can personally recommend the actifry and the rooster apron Ooh I am all excited to hear that Scooby is doing better now, I wonder if I can persuade OH to order this must-have gadget
Becka
Does the actifry make good chips? We are a family of five and would it make enough for us? I saw them in Costco and they were cheaper than in Lakeland so I thought I'd find out a bit more about them before I litter my cupboard with another must have gadget! Louisdog
Well I suppose tbh they are not as good as "proper" chips but a good imitation and nicer and cheaper than oven chips. FIL loves his. But I mainly use ours for roasting veggies e.g. courgettes, carrots. I am not sure you'd get 5 decent portions in it, but there are only two of us so couldn't say for sure, sorry. Becka
I hadn't thought about roasting vegetables in them. I might manage to make courgettes look like chips and then the children might attempt to eat them! Thanks for the reply. Becka
superjules
Ooh what's a diablo?! It's a little double frying pan, like 2 identical frying pans hinged together at the top so that you can turn it over and cook the other side with no hassle. We've had one for about 3 years and it's fab - I know it's supposed to be for toasties but it's just the right size for a fried egg or a one egg omelette. buffie
Just to update the Roomba is working away and it's made such a difference. Really don't know how we managed (we didn't) so Sarah you'll love it! BBx
Egluntyne
Phew! Fab aren't they.
Louisdog
The diablo looks cute, does it come apart so when you do an egg in it you just fry it in half of it like a mini pan? It looks great for toasties too. Must resist though, spent far too much already this month! Will put it on my wish list though
chickencam
I would recommend the pineapple corer, Sarah it is the only thing we have found that makes getting into a pineapple easy, it produces perfect rings. A must have diet item I should think They demonstrated it on Great Food Live a year or so ago and made a right hash of it but it really is easy
chocchick
I thought a diablo was a thing like a giant yo-yo Sounds good though.... OH is now happy with his Sccoba and has started talking to it in the same tone of voice as he does with Roomba and getting excited about moving it to new rooms and looking after it. It seems that it needed more Clorox than the instructions said and that sorted the problems. We now have a clean kitchen, bathroom and toilet floor.
