Tessa the Duchess
Can they eat them? We have one left over from a picnic. Tis my understanding that cheese is a no no, because of the fat content, and bread should be soaked before feeding it to them because it may bung up their crops if given dry. Tessa. Tina C
The are not supposed to have dairy food or fat but some people do give their girls a bit of cheese now and then. I think you have to be careful about bread too - the usual advice is to soak it in water first.
Rolo Rabbit
Thank you. I'll eat the cheese then.
Eyren
Mine go barmy for a bit of home-made bread torn up and soaked in warm water, but I don't give it very often as it's fattening - and the only dairy they get is the occasional bit of plain yogurt. Egluntyne
Ditto....The only dairy I give mine is probiotic yoghurt. However, I have a friend who gives her hens absolutely everything they s"Ooops, word censored!"e off their plates including rice pudding, cauliflower cheese etc ( they are veggies) and her hens have lived to tell the tale.
