Sheilaz
Do you know, I almost felt sorry for you there, Murdo. You might even get our newest members on your side. OK, everybody out, shut the roads in case there's a riot.
Lesley-Jean
Murdo, You must get a grip and start to assert yourself in a positive rather than a negative way. A sneaky new log on is not the way to go. Are you a man or a mouse, I am shocked that you will allow even the chickens to hold a higher post in the company than you do. You should make every effort to prove yourself worthy I would suggest that you start laying eggs. That might curry favour (curried eggs are one of my breakfast favourites) with the MD, but can we trust you to lay ones without the laid date already stamped on them. Perhaps not A better plan must be hatched I warned you that letting your line manage become able to do your job would be dangerous I think you should start a poll to find out what proactive projects you could undertake to raise your game and gain promotion
chocchick
Another poll I'm sure we'll have lots of ideas
Murdo
Murdo, You must get a grip and start to assert yourself in a positive rather than a negative way. A sneaky new log on is not the way to go. Are you a man or a mouse, Er ... squeek ? I am shocked that you will allow even the chickens to hold a higher post in the company than you do. That's easy for you to say, but I no longer make appointments. I did threaten to withdraw my labour, but this was met with general derision, there no longer being a compost heap to move. I think you should start a poll to find out what proactive projects you could undertake to raise your game and gain promotion That's a really good idea. Could you help me decide what options I should put on it .........
The Managing Director
Do you know, I almost felt sorry for you there, Murdo. You might even get our newest members on your side. This is a worrying trend and to nip it in the bud I think I should give you all some background information about the days just prior to the formation of our company To start with I shall give you a little quiz 1) When did Murdo tell the organist at our wedding that one of the hymns had been changed a) 6 months before said wedding b) 6 weeks before c) the day before d) half an hour before the wedding, that's him you see on the video ariving and dashing across the churchyard 2) When did Murdo choose the wine for our wedding a) 6 months before and had it all laid down ready for the big day b) 6 weeks before at an oddbins wine tasting c) the week before d) the evening before, turning up to a famiyl dinner with 3 bottles of red and asking people to help him decide I know that's an easy one, Murdo/can't decide, has to be that one doesn't it 3) On the morning of said wedding was Murdo a)relaxing secure in the knowledge that he had carried out appointed tasks b) sending a few last minute emails for work c) entertaining stray relatives d) rushing around buying wine, discovering he had left his tie and shirt in the wrong house and forgetting to phone the organist 4) when asked on the flight to our honeymoon whether he had liked expensive, once in a lifetime wedding dress did Murdo say a) 'it was gorgeous, worth every penny' b) 'you looked lovely, darling' c)' everything was perfect' d) 'I don't know I didn't notice it' I shall let you all reflect on this for a while before I post the answers To anyone that feels we are washing our dirty laundry in public would just like to say he started the whole shall we get a goat thing and froom what i understand once you get one of those all laundry clean or dirty ends up strewn around the garden
Nicola H
I am guessing here but I think all the correct answers are d............................
Cate in NZ
I'm going for d too, Nicola Are we right MD Edited April 8, 2006 by Guest
chocchick
It's "D" isn't it! Ahh bless him....
AnnieP
Hmmm.... now that's a really tricky quiz......
motherhen
Well I'm going to be boring and guess D - can't have been a boring wedding though with all that rushing around going on I can only conclude, since personality defects this serious must have been there since birth ande presumably obvious during courtship, that Murdo must have some seriously redeeming features to have enabled him to get MD to the alter at all Perhaps he could start by posting photos of himself so we can judge for ourselves
chocchick
Maybe the MD finds these traits attractive
The Managing Director
Well I'm going to be boring and guess D - I can only conclude, since personality defects this serious must have been there since birth ande presumably obvious during courtship, that Murdo must have some seriously redeeming features to have enabled him to get MD to the alter at all well done everyone that guessed D that was challenging wasn't it Hmmm have given the why we are where we are today some thought and can only conclude that I was romanced by an impostor(possibly a virtual impostor) Having wracked my brains I will say he a)likes dogs which is absolutely vital b)is actually capable of learning when in a controlled environment, if given one simple task at a time(he can now be almost entirely relied on to put dirty socks in the laundry and was responding well to a star chart for putting the coffee away until a slight mistake today) c) is quite handy to have around when technical support is required d) can be quite sweet sometimes although usually only when he's hungry (or is that the dog??) I will add also that the Itinierant Deputy assistant (and under underlings sister) was best man at the wedding and in her speech alluded to the fact that Murdo proposed to me on April Fools day and added that even as we stood at the altar she was hoping I would say'April Fool ' plus I was a lot younger then and not ground down to such cynicism by the responsibilities of being MD I hope the wedding debacle makes it quite clear to everyone that after the company was formed it was essential that there was a boardroom coup and all this nonsense about me love, honour and OBEYING (yes I really said that:oops: ) was quickly over ruled although we do stick with the love bit ( I hope) and don't anyone call my Under Underling defective he may be weird, bizarre, confused and a true geek but I can't have anyone else insulting him , he does have feelings you know (well he keeps saying he does anyway )
Sheilaz
Well, assuming it's D to all, it's amazing that the company was formed at all, let alone still up & running! But I'm very glad it was.

Martin B
HeHe If i've understood correctly then MD has got a new chook and made up an explanation saying a fox turned a different chook white! Please correct me if I'm wrong!
Sheilaz
Well done, Martin, you've got it in one! It's quite hard hiding a new white chook. Isn't Blossom lovely, I can see why the MD couldn't resist her.
motherhen
Errrm - well we aren't quite sure how accepted the old hen that turned white is, so at the moment we are strongly in favour of the well documented explanation of a shock turning feathers white. However if said hen has won over Murdo with her beauty and sweet nature - then yes I guess you're right
Martin B
Blossom is pure white and looks a real cutie, I'm glad murdo was easily won over!
