Richard
Amy hasn't come back. But a moorhen has appeared. In our little pond. She's been around a couple of days now. Well, I say she, I actually have no idea of whether it is a (s)he or what. But it is definately a moorhen. The photos aren't good 'cos I took them through the window - (s)he's pretty nervous and I can't get pictures outside. We woke up this morning and looked out of the bedroom window to see the moorhen eating underneath the bird feeders, and a woodpecker on one of the feeders - he is a very occasional visitor, and a lovely colour, so we are always pleased to see him. Oh, and the jackdaws are nesting in next doors chimney. Its a holiday home and they never seem to be here, so the birds shouldn't come to any harm with a bit of luck. They nested there last year and were OK - we watched the young. I apologise for the poor quality of the pictures - they were all taken through windows! Richard T
There must be something in the name, Richard, because I'm a bit of a bird magnet too. My visitors are hen pheasants. There are usually a couple waiting for me in the garden in the morning. They come running up to me when I go out to see the chickens and ducks - tho they don't come too close. A couple of months ago we had 14 of them (yes, fourteen) in the garden. One has worked out how to get onto the bird table.

emu
We had one of these darlings appear last year under our bird table, foraging for seeds. Mr Pheasant also sqawked one morning to announce his arrival- all pre chooks though,so don't know if we'll have a return visit.

Goosey Lucy
I get all excited if I see a blue tit We only seem to have pigeons, sparrows, magpies, starlings and the occasional blackbird I don't know what I'd do if anything more exotic appeared (except take the pledge)
