The amazing Cbeebies blocker!

Recommended Posts

I bought an MP4 player yesterday. I kinda wanted one for ages but I didn't know exactly what for or when I would listen to it. My new car (still no date!) has a socket to plug one into and I thought that would be good as it will save me having a million CD's and never one I want to listen to in the player.

Yesterday I saw a nicely priced little number in Aldi so I took the plunge. I spent a while ripping my CD's and bunging them on then put it in one ear to see what it sounded like. Well in one ear I can still hear James talk to me BUT it kinda blocks out the endless drivel that is Cbeebies - I listened to the whole soundtrack of Phantom of the Opera - havn't done that for ages.

James doesn't seem to mind one bit - except he keeps wanting to listen.

Oh poxy cbeebies, dont get me started on that, I can practically talk in sign language thanks to Mr Tumble. Thats the only good thing about it

I see the woman from Higgeldy house in my Sainsburys, she looks like death warmed up most of the time. Like one of the many childrens celebrities that party a little too hard with a few illegal substances thrown in for good measure.

Nice purchase, I bet it was so enjoyable to exchange the irritating night garden music for something much more classy :D

Early in the mornings, one of the music channels is signed, i think they pull the faces as part of the signing, not just for children.

You can't beat Aldi for bargains, half our house seems to have come from there. My DAB radio form Aldi cost £14.99 but looks a lot more expensive; we also got our 42" LCD tv as well as countless other items. Its always good quality and the staff are happy to take anything back.

As for Cbeebies, it seems to have gone completely down hill since Abi was little. Sometimes i miss the mornings where i could just chill and watch Teletubbies

I thought for a moment you were going to say you were depriving James of Cbeebies. I thought 'You meanie'

I used to know all the words to the Balamory song

We have now graduated onto Cartoon Network which, believe me, is much worse than Cbeebies. Its all superheroes and completely off the wall characters.

However, since discovering the Toontown website Layla has more or less ignored the TV. She now attacks Cogs instead

I too sing stuff from that pesky channel.

If the phone rings in the office Nick Jr takes over and its a Wonderpets moment...

The worst is when I do the shiny show - imagine this is in front of 15 year olds. One of them has done something hard that they have been struggling with.

"Give yourself a pat on the front

a pat on the front

a pat on the front

give yourself a pat on the front

You won you won you won"

Errm Miss - that doesn't rhyme.

Often followed by a version which does from the little darlings.

It's so annoying when I'm singing away to myself then realise I'm singing the latest Thomas theme tune or 64 Zoo Lane (in all fairness some of them are quite catchy  )

The other day 16 year old son thought he had something in his eye and asked me to have a look - peering into his eye I said the usual 'Look up, look down' then burst into song 'look all around, up in the air and on the ground ...' (From Come Outside with Auntie Mabel and Pippin the dog) Actually, I love Come Outside. She has a lovely flock of speckledy hens in one episode, and I loved seeing how toothpaste and brushes were made

The first day I took a new car into work (flash number, sporty, tinted windows etc) and some people were waiting in the car park to see it. I whizzed down the electric windows and it took me a moment before I realised why people were laughing so hard.... the Marc Jacobs stereo was blasting out tunes from a Winnie the Pooh soundtrack. It wasn't exactly the image I was hoping to portray :roll:8)

....I now drive a car which is more like a sardine can on wheels!

I prefer cbeebies to the channels my older kids watch...

I just cannot stand things like Spongebob and Fairly Odd Parents, those programs drive me mad... How they were ever approved by anyone and allowed to be made into a program, I can't comprehend...

Cbeebies is fine, I find, and I'm sure we have all had 'Balamory' singing moments...

OH tries to drown the TV noise by playing music on the sound system in the kitchen... we end up hearing music, two tv's, and usually a computer or two... I love a quiet day...

Sounds like my house! I dont really notice the noise and hubbub anymore but when friends visit (especially those with 1 or 2 children) they always comment on how much is going on. We always have 'extras' in as well, Its nothing for me to do lunch for about 7 or 8 children in the holidays, but I love it and wouldn't have it any other way!!

I'm quite happy to have my girls' friends over too, some of them feel like part of the family, and my girls love going to their houses too, sleepovers are quite common too ... It's lovely...

OH LOVES her! He was so jealous when I told him we saw her in the flesh when we went to see the Fimbles!

The most annoying programme has got to be Big cook, Little cook - how can it be the best cafe in the world when they only ever have one customer at a time, who doesn't get to see a menu or have any choice of what to eat, and only communicates with the staff through little notes!

What scares me is I'm getting used to them both  ... I used to really dislike the pair of them, now they don't irritate me quite as much... DD4 really seems to like them...

Imagine being a customer waiting for a meal and someone in the kitchen says 'now pop this in the freezer until set, three hours at least'... Well at least it's not fast food... :P
