Treekeeper
One of my black rocks (Fang) seems to have lost the top pointy bit of her beak, I know they wear down normally but she loks like someones chopped it off. Will it grow back? Perhaps someone with ex batts can answer as they are often debeaked??????
chucknette
Hi One of my girls is like this. It looks like shes been debeaked. I have kept my eye on her and it doesnt seem to bother her, she eats and drinks well and forages just the same as the others. Im not sure but I think I read somewhere that it grows back but I may be wrong there. Hope this helps
theherd123
Not too sure if this image helps - this is Mojo unfortunately she is no longer with me but the top part of her beak was always shorter than the lower part. Quite a lot of ex-battery girls have this but i have never noticed them struggling to eat or drink. The beaks on some of my girls have grown back. chocchick
http://club.omlet.co.uk/gallery/main.php?g2_itemId=8280 This is Trinny my first chicken who always had a bit of beak missing and didn't grow it back. I've heard of a chicken on the forum that did.

Imo
My girl Vivienne is missing a bit of her top beak. The only issue she has is eating - she can't peck at things so accurately, but it just takes her longer Being the top hen and having just competition from Queeny means she copes fine with it. Hers hasn't grown at all and we've had her for a year now.
Egluntyne
One of my girls is missing the end of her beak in much the same way as those shown in photos. I t doesn't seem to stop her gallop at all.
TheCoop
The beak on Babs looks like those pics. Doesn't bother her at all. Must be something to do with being an ex-batt....
