Seagazer
Wow! I was so nervous this morning that if someone from Omlet had offered me the chance of cancelling I would have taken them up on it! But I did let the nice Omlet man in (was in such a nervous state I even forgot to ask his name) and he put up my cube and gave me our girls. My youngest son and I are in love with them, I cannot get him to leave them alone. Everytime I turn around he is either stroking them or in the run with them. Our Miss Pepperpot has been named by oldest son and he has called her Butch . This is because when they first went in the run she kept squawking and pacing up and down - she was taking no prisoners! I panicked at this point and worried what the neighbours were going to say. She quietened down and has been brilliant since. She was the first one to come over for a stroke. Gingernut 1 has been called wait for it........ Ginger by youngest son and is the shyest of the girls, she has black feathers at the back. Gingernut 2 has been called Florence or Flo by my daughter from afar (she is at uni but I thought she should decide the name). Cookie is very interested in them but can take them or leave them. Dave though thinks that they are great stalking practice So after a very nervous start I am a happy girl with my three gorgeous girls Hopefully I have put in the photos correctly (fingers crossed) Oh dear - the photos look very large to me - I put them to message board size I promise. Chickvic
What lovely girls! My cats don't bother the chickens (they have been chased and one was pecked ) and they share the garden happily. Enjoy all the wasted hours spent watching the chickens...
Seagazer
I know its brilliant isn't it - we've sat outside all afternoon, YS still out there, wondering whether to put them to bed or not. See I wrote the above about 10 minutes ago, Jack called me back outside to see what they were up to! We have now put them to bed - hope this is ok? Abbey Road Girl
How lovely, Seagazer, brilliant! Dave may be feeling his oats now but I bet he'll soon be sorted (and slink away a wiser cat). Aren't you glad you didn't cancel your order (though I must admit feeling just as worried as you!)?

Seagazer
Thanks for all the lovely replies Today has gone really well (so far). I found out why I was feeling so funny about the chickens yesterday - I'm not well I've got a sicky bug and feel quite peculiar. Must say not the best way to feel when your cleaning out chicken poo My son even turned down the offer of tea at a friend's house as he didn't want to spend too much time away from the girls. This was after he set his alarm for 6 am this morning to get the girls up!! Luckily I heard him and got him to wait until 7.10!

Couperman
NIce Pics Lovely looking chooks. I think your cat needs to work on his technique he ain't gonna reach from there is he? The cat from a few doors down was stalking ours for a while. He tried a half hearted attack pounce and the hens just laughed at him. He slunk off nursing wounded pride. Have fun with you new sparkly Cube and girls. Kev.
