Elderly cat breathing difficulties when purring

I remember reading a while back that someone had strengthed their cube extensions with an extra Support Arch and had made the end of the run into a door.

 

Can anyone remember what that post was or even what the link to the Support Arches is as I want to order one and I can't find it in the shop.

I could be wrong but believe that the "end door" was made using the support arch that comes with the extension.. I don't think you can order one individually.

 

Of course I could be wrong but hopefully someone else will come along soon who knows a bit more! I cannot remember who is was but I also read the thread.

I have hinged the end panel and it is very successful - especially as my hens are now roosting in the run on the branches they have in there and I therefor have to poo pick from the run every morning.

 

 

I use velcro fastenings for the ones I need to undo and the clips supplied for the hinge.

Strictly speaking that's true, but they're happy to help out if they can. I bought a new inner tray for my rablu last year.

I think someone else on here did something similar, but you've really inspired me, Maggie. I don't poo pick I just put down lots of aubiose and then rake it out every so often, but I find it difficult to get the superglug into the run and hung up at the right height. I have already got some of those Velcro ties to keep the climbing rose in check.

 

Thanks for posting such detailed photos as that has made it all much clearer, in my mind I was wondering how it would work. I will need to make sure the ground in front of the Cube is level so it will swing out, but I think this would make life a lot easier. All I need now is to order a new arch!

Maggie the photos are great, I hope you don't mind your idea being pinched as I've just ordered a frame and extra clips (heard they break) plus green velcro fastenings from ebay (6 pack + 6 free £2.48 )

 

Although my effort wil be far smaller than your fantastic set up!

We have only had the chickens for a couple of weeks and so far my husband has been the one to scrabble on his hands and knees through the tiny door, but he was away yesterday and they needed more water, so it was my turn. OMG it was a nightmare... roll on delivery of the arch so I can make my big door.

Noticed that some people are still finding it difficult to find a way of getting into the cube run for cleaning, filling etc without resorting to the commando approach so thought I would bring this post back from the depths.

Thank you Maggie - fantastic timing - we were going to order an extension and do the door bit at the same time, but couldn't find this link. Surprise, surprise - this morning here was your posting and brought it to the top! So now I have ordered the extra frame too, will arrive next Tuesday. Chloe took the order and said she knew what I meant because she heard so much about the adaptations!

Yes ditto from me too. I've been meaning to get around to ordering the support arch.

 

I have got to clean out the girls this week (having bbq on Sunday for everyone to meet the girls) and I am absolutely dreading doing it. The first time I clambered in and got a bit stuck. The next time I sat outside and raked it towards me, then swapped to a shovel etc.

 

Trouble is I have tennis elbow (I think - Docs appointment fri) and my right arm is very painful so will be very slow going
