Ok, this sounds like fun, I love scrabble. I have so far avoided joining Facebook, do I have to join it or can someone just sneak me on for a few games of scrabble?

I've joined Facebook - and was shocked to be invited to be a friend to two Omleteers - but don't really know my way round it .

 

I love Scrabble but have no idea how to play Scrabulous - might log on and have a go (if someone's there just now?)

It is good! Challenge plenty of people ANH, then you can keep going, otherwise you have to keep waiting for your opponent to log back in after they've gone to make tea (actually not that good, Liz is thrashing me now )

It's taken me ages to figure out how to find things and people, it's obviously designed for gadget people In fact I still can't find my way around it

I just signed up to play my first game of Scrabulous and got such a dreadful lot of letters to start with that it's not boding very well . Oh well, at least I can always blame the selection of letters rather than my vocabulary

 

I know what you mean about Facebook. There's so much on there that it becomes quite time consuming and confusing navigating it and keeping up with it. My account has been pretty much dormant for months as I've simply not had the time to dedicate to it

I'm quite enjoying Scrabulous (despite being soundly thrashed by Poet and only just holding it together with the others ).

 

However, it's taken me a while to twig that you can use the most ridiculous "words" including all the chemical elements . Is that allowed in normal Scrabble? You also seem to be able to use words that don't exist in the online dictionary but still score on them .

 

This isn't a criticism of those playing, just of the rules . This is where I wished I done Chemistry at school .

Ahhh! Thats my technique too... A friend of mine told me about a cheat site for scrabulous he had found. Have been resisting the temptation to use it but i must admit i start about 10 games against Phil - decide which has the best letters and then delete all the others... And he still always beats me...

I've been playhing scrabble for years and my hubbie is VERY good and thrashes me EVERY single time! I guess I've just picked up a few tips along the way.

Im so glad you lot all use the 'bung any old letter in any spot and hope for the best' technique too!

 

I have found some of the wierdest words are accepted and i cant even pronounce half of them!

That must be where I've been going wrong . Prepare for words you've never heard of before if you're playing against me .

 

By the way, what the heck does "jun" mean . It doesn't come up in the dictionary, but is accepted anyway . (Can't remember which of you used it, but I'll be remembering that one for future use .)

Well I always seem to come up with really nice sounding words, but they usually aren't worth much!

You can also check which 2 letter words it will accept if you click on the dictionary button at the top...........I take ages over my go trying every letter to see if it accepts it like everybody else.

 

I will give you a game ANH just find me on facebook in the Omleteers group ...........

OOOh, just caught up with this thread. I have avoided scrabulous so far. Im tempted now. I would be totaly hopeless at it though . I failed my english o level twice and gave up!

I might have a go. I should add some more of you to my friends first. Ill have a good look at you all later! !!!
