lisa33
Hi All, I know there are a few people that regulary sell things on Ebay. I haven't sold that much stuff but have recently listed my Mark 1 eglu. It ended yesterday about 8 o'clock with a shockingly good price on it. The lady that won it has now emailed me with this email 'sorry i have an apology to make ,my boyfriend went out and bought me a eglu and chickens without me knowing as a surprize as i have been bidding for one for some time and not getting anywhere with it .im sorry but i do not require it any more.i finally won one after about 2months and know dont need it .sorry' Can anyone advise what the next course of action is? I believe I can offer it to the next highest offer but I'm not sure on the rules. Do I need to relist it? Can I report this person for not paying for something they commited to buy? As you can imagine I am not a particurly happy chook this evening. Why do people put bids on items if they are not prepared to pay up at the end. Any advice would be gratefully received. Ain't Nobody Here
Oh dear, sorry this has happened . Don't have much experience of selling I'm afraid, only buying. How close is the next bid? If you'd be happy with the price, why not contact that bidder? I'm sure they'd be delighted.
Snowy
Once something has sold, there should be an option alongside it in a drop down box for Secondchance offer. You can offer it to the next highest bidder and they have 24hours to respond to you.
lisa33
Thanks guys. I am just a bit miffed that she took almost 24 hours to tell me. I feel that she should have retracted her bid if she didn't want it. The next highest bidder was a really nice person who had emailed me a couple of times. Hopefully they'll want it. Do you know if Ebay amend the fees accordingly if you accept a lower bid?
The Dogmother
My gran does a lot of this, despite the fact she hasn't the faintest idea of how to use a computer! The bidders well, bid and you decide the price. Usually people start very low, as to start a " bidding frenzy ".

Yes the fees will be amended. It is annoying when they don't contact you, then when they do they backtrack Sadly you can't leave negative feedback for buyers anymore Hope your second high bidder still wants it! Cooks
Sadly you can't leave negative feedback for buyers anymore cant you??? I haven't sold anything in ages and didn't realise this had changed. I would email the lady and say, thats all very well, but she wshould pay the ebay listing price for you to re'list it..

hilda-and-evadne
Can anyone advise what the next course of action is? I believe I can offer it to the next highest offer but I'm not sure on the rules. Do I need to relist it? Can I report this person for not paying for something they commited to buy? Yes, you just offer it to the next person down. They will probably be thrilled to have won, after all. I don't believe that you have to relist it unless everyone on your bidder list declines the second chance offer. Just put it down to experience, I suggest - there are some very strange people on eBay.
lisa33
I have offered it to the next bidder. Fingers crossed they want it. I have also raised an Unpaid dispute as a mutually agreed thing as that way I should at least get my sellers fees recredited. Otherwise I have to pay the fees regardless of whether or not it sells. I am not enjoying ebay at the moment. Bad experience with a seller last week and a buyer this week. These are the first bad experiences I have had despite ebay dabbling for a couple of years now. Shirl
I'd report her as a non paying bidder and offer it to the next person without relisting. Hope you get your sale.
Bexiboo
That is very naughty of her, did you check her username to see if she has won any other eglus at perhaps a cheaper price since yours?

And you never know karma might bite her on the bum and the eglu she has bought which has no pictures may actually be a rablu lol.

Cooks
yes not exactly wise buying from someone with such low feedback.. I might have to list my eglu run soon as it's taking up too much room in the garage , I have no idea what to list it for though, so it just sits there until I can decide.. Katie
yes and lets hope it gets infected I agree! You're doing the right thing with taking up dispute action because at the end of the day, she hasn't paid and she shouldn't think she can get away with it. I have a love hate relationship with ebay. I bought some boots for £60 a couple of months ago, but when I recieved them they were not as advertised, so I tried to reason with the seller and I sent them back as he said he would refund me. But he didn't and deleted his account so I couldn't do anything But then again you can get some great finds Hope everything turns out ok in the end. hilda-and-evadne
Have you seen their reason for sale, they inadvertently bought 2 Eglus Yes - if I were a betting woman, I'd wager that that eglu doesn't exist ...
Cinnamon
Just to add that you MUST open a non paying bidder report in order to get your listing fees back Also you can only leave pos feedback for them, but you can still put,in caps, something along the lines of 'NON PAYING BIDDER.CANNOT NEG.TIMEWASTER.SELLERS BEWARE' As they have mucked you aabout big time & not been very honest,I would do this with no hesitation, although it may be worth waiting until they have left you pos feedback first to prevent a retaliatory neg
lisa33
I have opened an unpaid item dispute. I did this as the mutual withdrawal option prior to realising the lies. I have since emailed ebay and explained the situation to ask if there is any thing that can be done. I have also offered the second bidder the option to buy the eglu. I have not yet heard from anyone so will not hold my breath over anything coming good of the whole situation.
Ain't Nobody Here
Good luck, I hope you get it resolved and manage to sell your eglu .
