Criminal Justice - now with 'Whodunnit!'

Recommended Posts

Wow  . Good TV wasn't it :) . Had us guessing till the end - so much for OH's "it was the dad" . That Ben chap is a really good actor, isn't he? I thought the prison scenes were horrible - and scarily believeable :? .

Made me think at the end, your life would never ever be the same again after going through something like that :? .

Was it as you thought Egluntine?

We had been saying all the way through, about that person.......... in a "what about the one at the beginning, in the......" sort of way but we never guessed the whole story! A bit of an unfinished ending in a way but we really enjoyed it!

I had decided it was either the next door neighbour or the petrol station witness......because they were the only two others around at the time of the incident...apart from the father, and he had an alibi.

The petrol station witness looked a wrong 'un. :D

I also wondered if the other murder in the area was connected in some way. I thought it unlikely that there would be 2 murderers on the rampage in one small area on the same night.

I had wondered if it might have been his jealous mother, as her reactions were odd, but she had an alibi too.

I found the likelihood of the "boss" prisoner having knowledge of who had done it stretched the imagination a bit, and the story got a bit thin there.

The ending wasn't quite as exciting as I would have liked, but on the whole, I enjoyed it very much.

It is nice to see a new drama instead of the same tired old repeats.

Edited for typos.

Pleeeeeease don't believe that all lawyers are like they are on the telly. We have been talking about it a lot at work ( I'm a criminal barrister), and although it was compelling viewing, all we have been saying is that it is NOTHING like reality - about as accurate as The Bill is about policing  . But then the reality wouldn't be glamorous or make good telly would it?? But we are not all dishonest, bullying, pompous, vicious, money-grabbing and rude! I have met one or two who are one or two of those things but "Ooops, word censored!"ody anything like any of the barristers on the progamme. I thought the performance of the young lad was great but like you thought the end far-fetched. And no, sadly our lives in no way resemble those of the lawyers in Judge John Deed either...sigh! :)

My daughter is a solicitor and is nothing like the chap portrayed in the series.

She is well groomed, polite, pleasant, punctual and hard working.

I suppose it was as realistic a portrayal of the legal profession as Holby City is of the medical world. :D :D

It was enjoyable though...even if unpleasant in places.

Did something happen to this thread because I couldn't find it today without doing a search but it was there last night?

I watched all of it on iplayer finished this morning.

A gripping story if a bit far fetched in places, but it goes to show hwat can happen if a certain chain of events happens to a particular group of people. Real life is very complex and a moral minefield.

The end reminded me of the Life on Mars episode about police corruption, there is no black and white in real life only shades of grey. Unfortunately there are always winners and losers and the brave and the lucky.

I watched the first episode on iplayer last night (thansk Clare) while I rioned. Took me a while to realise that the chap playing Ben was the same actor as played the lead in the film of Perfume when it came out.

Gripping stuff, just hope that it's online long enough for me to watch all of the episodes.

I've been downloading it - just part 5 to get now. So if you need a copy Claret, let me know.

I haven't watched any of it yet. It all looks quite horrifying. DH thinks it is just too awful and doesn't want to watch it at all.
