craftyhunnypie
Hi, I need a quiz to give out & do on our caravan rally this weekend. I dont't just want one off google, as we have a few cheats who look stuff up on their phones! So wondered if any of you had any tried and tested good quizzes I could use & the answers please? Hope you can help. Emma.x
Cinnamon
One of the best ones I ever saw was a big picture, with heaps of band names as items in it 9if that makes any sense!) For instance,2 white lines down the middle of the road were The White Stripes. There were heaps of them,& they were really hard to get. I will see if I can Google something. Egluntyne
Charlottechicken is the one for quizzes if I remember correctly.
Guest
if you had the time, you could print of pictures of scenes from films and get people to guess. Easy ones like the beach scene in "From Here to Eternity" and then some harder ones. photo quizzes are good because you can't cheat on them! craftyhunnypie
They are not very up on their music. Majority are over 60 & telly addicts. General knowledge or find the connection type quizzes work best. We had a nursery rhyme one once & a guess the object one..photos of everydat objects mega close up. Guest
just print a quizz off the net and confiscate everyones phones then until the quizz is over!
Guest
where's the rally?
craftyhunnypie
Easier said than done poet. We are going that close to home, that people could easily pop home & go on the net....& they would (bad losers). Emma.x
craftyhunnypie
Our little club (ERF) are at Goostrey & we are running it. It should have been Bala (Wales), but no one wanted to go as they said it was too far! Emma.x
theherd123
If you let me have your email address i can send you a set of 'Dingbats', and 20 questions each starting with 'How many...?' e.g. How many wonders are there in the ancient world?' etc Also if you have teams you can play 1001 uses - give each team an everyday object and they have to be able to name as many different uses for it as they can. E.g. Given a thimble they could write it could be used as a small hat for an elf, a seat for a fairy, an ant catcher etc send me a PM if you would like them
jlo
Just tried to PM you but it didn't seem to work. If it did, can you let me know. I quite like doing a musical round with either general music or film themes. "What's in the news" is a good one unless there are lots of newspapers in the vicinity! craftyhunnypie
thanks - its a good one - but a lot wont know the songs. stops any cheating tho! Emma.x
Sheilaz
....Majority are over 60 & telly addicts. ... How about cutting out pics of tv characters/actors and other well known people, and sticking them on a sheet of cardboard? You could use TV listings/gossip magazine/newspaper. Only takes an evening, and I'm sure you can make a craft project out of it! Choose about 50 I should think, number each one, and keep a list of the answers for scoring. It's easy to throw in a few difficult ones if you think some would like a challenge, photos that don't look much like the person, or poor quality print, but then plenty that will be fun to guess. Have fun! PS...if one board is hard for a group to view, you could use 4 or 5 hand held boards.
craftyhunnypie
We have done loads of these, it seems the usual thing to do - that everone now does it. Good idea, but we want something a bit different. We did puzzles once - like logical thinking ( like mensa) - we only got 2 entries. Guest
you're hard work you are Emma How about recording famous people and playing snippets of their voice and people have to guess who it is, if they ask for it to be repeated only allow one repeat. Depends how techie you are but you could record their voice from clips on you tube on the web. Go for TV stars if they all watch telly. Geoid
I have a quiz... There is a square room there are cats in each corner of the room, each cat is opposite to another cat. Each cat has 3 cats on its tail. How many cats are there?
Rona
I used to run caravan rallies many years ago with the Services Caravan Club (Germany). This was before computers and the internet were invented and favourite competitions were 'Feely Bags', which you probably wouldn't have time to do before the weekend, but you make about 20 little cloth bags with something in and string them in a line along the front of your awning and they have feel them and guess what's in them. Good icebreaker and gets everyone socialising. Another favourite - because it wasn't taxing, either for the rallier or the marshall - was to get a large piece of polystyrene and draw a treasure island map on it naming locations relevant to some of the characters in the club and then make flags with toothpicks and sticky labels. Decide the coordinates for the treasure and put it in an envelope before you start. Then everyone gets a flag to put where they think the treasure is. I used to hate clever quizzes, probably because I was no good at them so can't give any suggestions on them, but good luck and hope you have a great weekend. craftyhunnypie
they are fab! We are definitely going to do the treasure map thing. We will do the feely bags another time - when I can make some on y machine. Thanks Rona! Emma.x
