buffie
Sorry if this has been posted. But our lovely Jim is on BBC 2 TONIGHT at 9pm! It's Jimmy's Farming Heroes and the reason he's been all over the country and not at the farm when we've visited. jomaxsmith
Just hope they don't do it in the same tone as the last series of Jimmy's Farm - all impending doom and bankruptcy! Jo
Ms Marple
I am very new to all of this and spending too much time already reading around the site. However, thanks fo the reminder about this programme as I was thinking about him yesterday when we went to a lovely farm to collect our hens. This farm rears rare-breed pigs, called Middle Whites - quite ugly which actually make them really cute! Had a good look around. really nice place, kind and very friendly and full of advice. The farm is called Heathylee. http://www.heathylee.co.uk/ http://www.flickr.com/photos/ms_marple01 By the way can anyone point me in the right direction to upload a picture to my signature?. Rona, your cats look awfully like my two, have a look. Edited July 15, 2008 by Guest
buffie
Just hope they don't do it in the same tone as the last series of Jimmy's Farm - all impending doom and bankruptcy! Jo It got taken out of context This is great as it's Jim as the main focus, Jim as the farmer visiting other food producers. chickencam
I just watched it on iplayer. Wow what a fascinating programme, to see the processes behind food production. We have bought KellyBronze turkeys for Christmas for about the last 5 years, they taste amazing and although they are very expensive when you see how they live you can see why and to spend the money and know that the bird has had a good life is great That tomato farm, great ideas I no longer feel guilty about buying vine ripened tomatoes in the spring and early summer before mine are ripe, we only buy British My OH has wanted to know how they grow peas commercially for ages so I will have to get him to watch it. chickencam
OH watched it on iplayer last night and thought it was really interesting too. There ia a really positive tone to the programme. I think Paul Kelly may love his turkeys nearly as much as we all love our chickens Did you see those turkeys running just like big fat chickens
