Martin B
I have just recieved information from Linda's daughter Lizzy that their bantam Bunty has unfortunately passed away. They are all very upset and I hope that you will spare a thought for them as they grieve for their loss. Best wishes, Martin

Martin B
It is indeed. Cathy is apparently very upset as it was her chicken, it's such a terrible loss to them all, I'm sure everybody understands.

Linda
Thank you for your kind words and thoughts. It was such a shock finding Bunty dead in the eglu while the other three were happily free-ranging. She was in a funny position right at the back of the eglu but there wasn't a mark on her and nothing strange or untoward in or around the eglu. I was completely mystified as to what could have happened to her. I know someone posted recently with the sudden death of one of their chickens and suggestions were made that it could have been a stroke or heart attack. I just hope bunty didn't suffer. motherhen
I have had experience of 'sudden death' in my pre-eglu days - I think you and the family can be reassured that it was almost certainly sudden and with no suffering. Best wishes to you all
