abwsco
well not the hob itself but the rings that the burners sit on. The hob is stainless steel - would the rings be aluminium? Anyway, we've already spoilt them by scrubbing at them and scratched them but how can I get what looks like "burnt bits" off them If anyone can understand what I'm on about I think they need a medal
Olly
I know exactly what you mean ... but I'm afraid I don't know an answer to this one. They get discoloured very quickly and I've never managed to restore them to the way they look when you first get the hob.
Lesley
Yes, I know what you mean as well, mine are the same. Those parts used to be in s/s as well and not this soft, rough metal which you can't clean
Egluntyne
Lakeland do a very good oven cleaner which will tackle the job you describe. **Here** It is biodegradeable but I'm not sure that makes it particularly "green"
abwsco
Thanks everyone I'm wondering about doing a really ungreen thing and seeing if I can buy new ones as it looks so bad.
Trish
try applying a paste made from Bicarb and washing up liquid. Leave for a while then use a damp cloth to work the paste like a scouring powder. Should be gentle enough not to scratch too much. Doesn't alway help but can be good depending on what was spilt
gracefruit
You can soak them in a strong solution of bio washing powder and water. This gets rid of a lot of cooked-on yucky stuff.
AJuff
I swear by a 50/50 mix of borax and bicarb. It shifts everything naturally.
