KarmaMama
Hello everyone, it's been a while since I posted - we finally got 3 eggs - yay! Anyway = my daughter is keeping a hen journal and has been looking up facts about the hens on the web. When she looked the Welsummer to see what colour her eggs would be sh thought that the images on the wen didn't match our gal. We were under the assumption she was a Welsummer, but being total novices, thought there ma be someone who could clarify She is a beautiful chocolate brown colour with green white and black flecks... Fingers crossed Jacquie & Daughter Abigail
mrsm_jones
She looks like a Speckled Sussex to me (But I could be wrong) Specked something anyway. Think the speckled colour is also known as Porcelain. Defo not a welsummer anyway
Egg Lou
I'm afraid I am no good with this breed, however wanted to say she's a stunning girl!
superjules
That looks like a speckled sussex to me, but you have a speckled sussex in your sig so I'm now very confused. Can you post a picture of your other speckled sussex, the one in your sig?
Egluntyne
My friend has a splash maran , chocolate I think, and she looks a bit like her.
KarmaMama
We just went through the list from the breeder of the ones we bought and we have got totaly confused - She is definately a Speckled Sussex - the mix up was with the Cuckoo Maran, Welsummer ans Speckeled Sussex - we got all 3 muddled - I'll pull together a pic of all of them... KarmaMama
Thankyou for your compliments - we think they are awesome too. CoCo is my personal fave because of her feathers and because she was at the bottom of the pecking order when we first got them home. She is now the biggest and has learnt to throw her weight around, lol. But ultimately I love the colour of her feathers, they remind me of a big mug of hot chocolate with whipped cream J x
