Somehow I don't think we'll be queuing up to get her autograph from you :lol: .

The Michael Jackson guy was a bit  . It's interesting that they're always a bit kinder to the contestants who are obviously not quite right :? .

I have to admit to having a small weep at the poor girl who's mum died when she was 7 :( . My ES was doing a lot of :roll: at me  .

That sounds like our household - mind you it was our daughter that was giving me and hubby the strange look

I work with Betty who sang the "gangbang" song. Not sure whether I should admit to knowing her though :anxious: You've got to admit - she has nerve!

I must admit I was astonished when she said she was a Court Usher. .

How inappropriate was her choice of song for someone in that job. :? A decision that she might live to regret.

How inappropriate was her choice of song, full stop.

I'm not entirely convinced that she will win.

I agree Egluntine - entirely inappropriate. Not, however surprising to me! She was in a different office today so I hope that she didn't "chuck a :vom: "! so that she could appear on This Morning!

She will be loving the attention and is a real character - as you can imagine! Don't think I will be asking for autograph though!

The girl with the long hair, who had a sore throat at the initial auditions sang "The first Time"...and to my ear it was truly horrendous....but the judges loved it!

The two pub singers called something like Andante have the potential to be rather irritating. I can't see them lasting very long.

Interesting mix though. In the main far more talent than last years crowd.

Very interesting contestants this year :P

I really like Mali, & my daughters think he is gorgeous!

I love Alan too, & also litle Liam who didn't make it through, but then the judges changed their minds.

Love Daniel too.

I am not keen on vocal bands, but JLS are cute, fun & sound good.

I also like the brother & 3 sisters who just made it through.

Can't remember her name (Diana?),but I adored the blonde girl with the hippy chick vibe - she was amazing.

The girl I mentioned earlier....Laura from Bolton.....completely ruined an Amy Winehouse song. Her performance was conceited and contrived and truly horrible....even the judges thought so....and yet they let her through. I simply don't get her....or the judges rationale there.

I'd have shown the brother and sisters Motown wannabees the door too. Silly tantrums and obviously no rehearsal. The lead singer didn't know the words  I felt sorry for the brother....he was totally perplexed and embarrassed by his sisters silliness, and the only one with any manners.

They will last 5 mins I'm guessing.

For the most part, the people I particularly like did get through (except for Joelle who seemed to be thrown out for one bum note  ), so next week should be interesting.

I especially like Mali, Liam, JLS, the blonde "Duffy" girl, the girl who didn't make it in 2005, the older woman who Simon originally called "old-fashioned" and the guy who lost his wife. I actually liked the girl who murdered the Amy Winehouse song. I am pleased they let her off as I do think she has potential. I also love the Spanish girl. (Sorry about the random descriptions. I am so rubbish with remembering names).

I agree the family of 3 girls/1 boy totally messed up and were very unprofessional. I think they only went through because they were short on the groups category. I had quite a soft spot for Andante, as I have a Welsh friend who speaks like that! I do not like Rachel! Nothing to do with her background or her voice, purely her bad attitude and inability to accept any criticism! I'm also not sure about the girl who lost her Mum. I liked her original audition but now her voice increasingly grates on me.

Looking forward to next week. :D

Mali is the nephew of a very good friend of mine. His dad used to be a session singer and the whole family are quite musical (including his aunt!! - we play flute togther at a Concert band in Manchester). I met him at a party a few years back - nice lad.

I watched the repeat on Sunday morning with YSD, aged 10.

I let a discreet tear slid down my right cheek at the girl whose mum died when she was 7.

YSD immediately saw the tear and said (as though she's aged about 105) - 'Oh bless yer, look at her, having a cry!' Then, in a low voice under her breath - 'I am so telling Dad about that!' The cheeky minx, she does make me laugh.....

I'm just watching them choosing their final 12 - is it just me or are they making some bizarre choices? :? They are sending home some of the better ones and keeping the complete lemons! Totally bizarre - someone come and tell me I'm mistaken? :o

I agree. The only I would have saved are Rachel...a diamond in the rough...I don't think we've seen the best of her yet, and Austin, although he needs to toughen up and stop snivelling.

The judges comments confuse me - if the contestant is emotional, they worry that they will be strong enough, if they are strong, they say they have no emotion and need to wear their heart on their sleeve more :? Wish they'd make their bloomin' minds up!

Well, not wanting to buck the trend, but.....

For the the most part I agreed with the judges' decisions. My only real disagreements were that Suzie should have gone through instead of Rachel, Mali instead of Oeghan (sp?), even though I liked him too, Hannah should have gone through instead of one of the groups as she was much stronger. I thought Cheryl had the toughest choice in that there were 4 really good candidates in her group.

Looking forward to the live shows! :D
