Helly Welly
We only buy for the children in our extended family, we made a promise last Christmas. None of us ever managed to buy anything decent and it was always a big stress each year. Now we just buy for the children we can afford to get them something really special. All this means i have a total of 3 people to buy for; OH, DD and niece. I think i've just about finished pressie buying but i need to sort out christmas dinner. We haven't decided what we'll have yet. Probably lamb, none of us like turkey.
Cooks
I am almost done I guess, it's a bit bitty in places I am making my Nana a hamper of some of her favourite things, mum collects pills pots, paperweights.. sorted, dad likes malt whiskey, kids asked for one large item this year... much easier!. nieces are sorted, nephew is harder, he always wants money and I wont give money at Xmas, birthday.. ok, not Xmas so I have to find something. OH never wants anything bought for him and prefers to get items when he wants them but I have got him things anyway.. like he expects me to listen?? My dogs will get a bag of treats, the chickens will get a luxury treat bowl full of their favourites and me?? I will will be stressed out like every year. Valkyrie
At last I have ordered the turkey - we had a ride out yesterday and popped into Laverstoke Park (organic farm). Very nice butcher's shop. Ended up with buffalo steaks to try - not eaten any bovine meat for years. I recommend them (er, not for cost, broke the bank on a couple of items) for cleanliness and putting up with me asking questions on cooking. They said they had already done a bit of quality control and tested some of the buffalo steaks for their breakfast!
ubereglu
I'm going to start making christmas cards today!
Seagazer
I'm still stitching the Christmas cards for the close family. Will get cards to stick them in next week. I have ordered Christmas cards for extended family and friends via YS's school. They get the children to design a card each and then a company called MySchoolChristmasCards print them out and the school gets a certain amount for the pta. Jack has done another lovely one this year. Last year lots of people commented on how nice it was to get one that he had designed himself. Its a shame he will be leaving next year. I must remember to go and order the turkey tomorrow!
