GreenGirl
That is an awful position to be put in, as the others say, a captive audience - he sounds like a narcissist who probably wouldn't be able to hold his own views one on one if challenged. You were probably right, unpleasant as it was, to sit there and seeth. I agree that it might be worth putting your 'feedback' into HR, is there any chance of an anonymous comment in? take heart that your views are just as strong as his, but more balanced and humanistic
Angels4
I have had a converstion with my boss regarding the whole situation and unfortunatly (although she agreed with me) there isn't a whole lot that can be done. He is the president of the company and therfore is entilted to make a fool out of himself (my words, not hers.) I am pleased to report, that she mentioned recieving about 100 phone calls from others in attendance. We only get together as a group every 6 months or so and only one of the two times a year is he in attendance. I felt better after speaking with my boss. I was able to express my dissapointment and I feel confident in my position. Now I can let it go and continue on with my life. I didn't share with her that in the future I would make myself scarce during his session, but I don't get the impression that I would lose my professional standing. Thanks for letting me rant. GreenGirl
I'm so glad you managed to voice your thoughts to someone in the company. Well done for raising it, I am sure that only strengthened her opinion of you
