Grown Up Party Games

Recommended Posts

I thought you would be the perfect people to ask :D

I am going away on a college residential weekend with a group of 10 girls aged between 34 - 55, and whilst we are there it is one of their birthdays. I would love to hold an ole' fashioned birthday party for her, and wondered if anyone knew any party games we could play in the evening? it is either that or enforced group singing!!

I dont know how much alcohol will be consumed, probably not much ...

Thanks - I will save a bit of virtual-birthday cake :)

Get some cards with famous peoples names on them in couples (Tess daly & Vernon Kay etc), & ask each person to come forward & you sellotape it to their back, without letting them see.

They then have to go forth & ask questions of anyone else in the room (helps with ice breaking) about who they are.

Then, when they have made an educated guess, they have to find their partner.

First couple to partner up wins.

We did this a few years ago - I was Lizzie Bennet & I DID find my Darcy

Def the name game where you stick a post it to each others foreheads with a famous persons name on it and you have to guess - we really got someone stuck with this a while ago by putting their own name on the post it  Apart from that i only really know drinking games - if it does end up with that then you could look up ring of fire, quite a fun game with lots of people

Ooh don't know if this counts as it's more a teen thing but it tells you about your life in a funny way.

1. First write the numbers 1 through 11 in a column.

2. Besides 1 and 2 write any two numbers you want.

3.Beside 3 and 7 write down the names of someone you know from the opposite gender.

4.Write the names of friends or family in 4, 5 and 6.

5. Write song titles in 8, 9, 10, 11.

Answer key.

1. You must tell (the numbers in spaces 1 and 2) about this game.

2. The person in space 3 is the one that you love.

3.The person in 7 is the one you like but can't work out.

4.You care most about the person in 4.

5.The person in 5 is the one who knows you very well.

6.The person you name in six is your lucky star.

7.The song in 8 matches with the person in 3

8.The song in 9 is the one for the person in 7.

9.10 is the song that tells you most about your mind.

10.The song in 11 is the one that tells you about your life.

It's really fun. Honest. :D

This can only be done with one, er, victim.

The Admiral Nelson Game.

Victim is blindfolded and sat in the middle of the group. One person then has a coat and says "This is Nelson's arm" - get victim to feel the empty sleeve, and then drape the coat around their shoulders.

Next a hat made out of newspaper saying "this is Nelson's hat" and again let victim feel it and then place on victim's head.

Finally - and this is the only reason why it can only be played once - have to hand a ready peeled satsuma, clementine, mandarin. Push the victims finger into the centre and say "this is Nelson's eye". This should have a terrific effect - beware, the orange could end up being flinged across the room in shock!
