I went to the sing-a-long version with son. It made the experience enjoyable but I wouldn't go to see the film again. I thought that the first part was terrible then I sort of got into it with the singing. It's ok but totally over-rated. Apparently the stage version is many times better.

I went with my 11 year old daughter and we loved the film. But, I would agree with Janty about the beginning. I thought it is too over the top and shouty - but less than half way through I was singing along to myself - and it wasn't the singalong version! It is the first film I have seen where the audience clapped at the end. Fabulous.

However . . .

DD has the soundtrack and plays it CONSTANTLY!! I love Abba, grew up with them and one of their albums (vinyl, you know) was the first I bought, but enough Bria (dd's name)

I thought it was a fun enough way to spend a couple of hours, if you leave your critical mind at home and ignore the shouty annoying bits

It has ruined Colin Firth for me though (anyone who has seen it will understand :( ) It is available for preorder on amazon and DH wants it for Christmas :shock::roll:
