sparkysmum
Hi ANH, Have just noticed this thread. Enjoy your break, you certainly deserve it. I hope all the nasty weather we're having doesn't reach you. Hope the sun shines for all of you. Allisonx
Ain't Nobody Here
Hello . Had a great week on Arran. Weather very mixed but still managed to do a lot of walking. Cottage was basic but comfortable - slap bang in the middle of a dairy farm so we had the drone of milking machinery from 6-8 morning and night (you'll see how close it was from the photo!) We nearly didn't get home though, as two ferries were cancelled yesterday and we had to sit in the car for 5 1/2 hours at the terminal till they deemed it safe to sail . The view from our bedroom Weather went from this ... ... to this within an hour or so (it was a very painful hailstorm ) The top of Goat Fell (almost a Munro and a very steep climb) The beaches were terrible, couldn't find anywhere to put our towels Couldn't fit this in one photo - it was spectacular Hope I've not bored you too much with our holiday snaps . It's nice to be home - I've now got to catch up with all the new posts and 5 million loads of washing . My girls seem to have survived the wild weather (my gate & the neighbours' tiles didn't ) but Maisie doesn't seem to have laid (still to check with my friend ). chelsea
Glad you had a good time and were able to get out. We've just come home from 2 weeks on Skye - weather was terrible (sideways rain, gales and snow)
Omletina Kyckling
Fabulous photographs, it looks like you had a great time, love the almost horizontal hail on one of the photos! I grew up next to a dairy farm and we had the milking machines each morning, in the end we got where we didn't hear them! Welcome back to Omletland! BeckyBoo
How stunning, like I said I've never been to Scotland, I'm hoping to go camping to Lancashire to see family next year so might try and "keep heading North" once we've done the rellies. Not sure about the milking shed, hmmm, can see that losing it's novelty factor after about half an hour! Fantastic place though (think I'll stick to the mainland, I don't do rough sea ) Mrs B
