Lewis
I made some of these for rehearsals, and someone said he felt like a giant with small biscuits. So this week I made a HUGE one and he wasn't there! ....do you need any help eating it? We chopped it into slices like a cake and ate it like that! Guest
I made some today and they were much enjoyed by both my pole dancing class and my Hen party people. I've eaten 3 so far Just one point - could you modify the recipe for people like me that read one thing at a time. I read to combine all the dry ingredients and set aside - which I did Then I read to cream the butter and the sugar Well the sugar was already combined with the dry ingredients! They came out OK Oh I seem to have eaten another one...

I did exactly the same thing too I always treat recipes like exam papers - read through to the end before you start ....or, at least, I read the method properly but I am notoriously bad at speed-reading the ingredients I often have to improvise with ingredients
Lewis
Snickerdoodle is in Matilda. It's on tele now, and when Matilda's dad dyes his hair blonde, the mom throws cereal on the floor, and shouts: "Snickerdoodle, what have you done to your hair!?!" The Dogmother
I have the snickerdoodle recipe in a Cookies book that I have. I hadn't noticed it, but Rosie had the book out to go through some recipes to see what to make.
Mrs Frugal
The recipe is hand written in one of the Farmhouse Cookery books Mum handed on to me when I got married so goodness knows where she found it originally to copy out. It's also in Nigella's Domestic Goddess book more recently.
Lesley
My sister has it in an American Cookie book she has........
Ain't Nobody Here
I've just made some Snickerdoodles too - they look and smell lovely . Now for a bakonumpty question - are they supposed to spread out a lot? I left the 2" gap between them but they've stayed much the same size as when I flattened them slightly . I'm leaving them to cool. Actually, I'll be back in a minute .
Lesley
They do spread a bit ANH - but they don't meet, if that helps?
Lewis
Mine didn't flatten/spread out much, but I think it's because they were quite thick and not runny.
Guest
Mine didnt' spread much either so the second time I left much smaller gaps and used 1 less baking tray!
