ubereglu
I went to the Genesis project today on a school trip. It's all about renewable and sustainable materials being used in buildings. It was a bit too hot for us when we all went on the tour around it but it's amazing. The buildings made out of terracota-honeycombed bricks, which means you don't have to insulate it. Lots of the walls are made of cob-Mud mixed with straw and stones and there are mud bricks also used too. We got to make some mud bricks. It's a lot of fun and you get very messy mixing all the mud with the water etc. Then we made a wall out of them and got to also make a wall out of the terracota bricks stuck together with lyme motar. It was a very good trip and very interesting.

The Dogmother
That's very interesting, there was an article in one of the papers a while ago about a building made from cob.
