Squirrels!!

Recommended Posts

We have a squirrel in our loft  its been visiting for the last 2 days, usually around this time of day, Ive been on websites sugesting various things to deter it, we can't get up to the roof from the outside yet, as we don't have a long enough ladder, to block off the entrance hole. Any of you had any problems? If so what did you do? Thanks :)

Rentokill

They can do UNTOLD damage if you trap them inside when trying to block up the holes

They will also work the holes back open if you trap them outside.

Mum had them in her loft when she was trying to sell the house and I lost count of the times she tried to get shot of them because she didnt' want to kill them

2 days after rentokill had been there were no more squirrels.

They are not cute and fluffy they are vermin. If they are grey squirrels they are not even natives - and it's unlikely they would be red squirrels as the grey insurgents have killed them all off.

Call pest control - pay the money and no more problem.

Oh my gosh  Did'nt realise they could be so bad  My hubby went in loft today, no sign of mr squirrel, he put moth balls up there, as we read that the scent would put it off, its not been back today, trouble is, we keep getting moth ball smell, reminds me of my Grandma  but Ive heard that moth balls are toxic, if so why are they still used, Im worried now and :?

I could lend you our cats. We had another dead squirrel on the sofa this morning. The second one on about as many weeks!

I do feel sorry for our cats. They must think we are torturing them with the hamsters and now the chickens! Having said that, the first squirrel was caught before we had the chooks!

Have'nt seen Mr squirrel for a couple of days, but we have a chap coming tomorrow to block off the hole in the roof! :D

You have to be REALLY careful with this - if you block the hole and the squirrel is hiding inside then it will wreck your house.

Mum had people block the hole into her roof about FOUR TIMES. She spent good money on this.

The squirrel just found it's way back in by scrabbling open the hole again.

She wishes she called Rentokil in the first place and not as the last resort.

She didn't like the idea of killing one but you are not supposed to trap them and they made her house unsalable - luckily they DIDN'T do any damage.

If she had the same problem again she wouldn't hesitate to call in Rentokil.

I haven't had a problem but a friend did, she got a squirrel trap (sorry  I don't know where from but I think it was the council) unfortunately the squirrel didn't take the hint for a while but it was eventually removed!

Didn't Hugh FW say that it was illegal to trap a squirrel then let it go.

If you trap it, you will have to eat it!

:D:vom::D:vom:

Don't think I could stomach it.
