Palmer06
Hi, Quick question. One of my silkies who got scalped few weeks back has been getting on fine but now she has started to look abit funny and very skinny. Is there anything i can feed her so that she starts to put abit of weight bak on quickly? And is it because she has been indoors for a few weeks healing, that her feathers are looking abit ropey. Any help would be great as i am starting to worrie as she has survived this far.

Plum
Poor thing. Glad she's healed. No experience but Ive seen mention of a bit of rinsed tuna or organic cat food to give them protein and poultry spice to help with feather building. Someone will put a link to the threads. Palmer06
Hi, I am greatful for the help but i am sad to say she passed away today. I am sorry if you have read this already on another post but there was two on the go. It doesn`t make sense! This happened way over four weeks ago and she was great, it didn`t seem to affect her at all. She was eating, sleeping playing about around the house ever since, her head had alost full covered over and feathers had alraedy start regrowing. Then yesterday she was fine and then suddenly last night she looked just aliitle bit down but i thought i was just over worring. Then today she passed on. Once again thank you for all the advice you have give us over the last several week it has been a great help.
Leicester_H
Sorry to hear that. At least she seemed happy and contented. Presumably it was the shock of it all ? (when I was as first aider we were told shock is a killer) You did all you could - she didn't suffer H
