It took them about 3 hours but we got there eventually...I'm so pleased with the end result, it looks great!! Couldn't sleep Saturday night for all the excitment, we collected our 4 new girls yesterday...here's a few photos of their first day in their new home. Have been sitting in the rain today watching their every move, hope you like them! Blanche and Coco Ruby Hilda, Blanche & Ruby Blanche, Coco & Ruby Night, night! Gamebird
Lovely ladies. Is Blanche the same age as the others? She has a very mature set of head fittings. And so clean. My Light sussex is turning into a Buff Sussex in this wet weather.

Vicky40
Hi Thanks for your lovely comments everyone. I've just been to let them out and we have our first egg this morning!!!! Its still warm, we are all so excited! I'll try and post a photo later. Blanche does seem to be more mature than the others and she is sporting some wonderful bright red headgear so I guess she's the only one ready to lay at the moment? I feel so lucky to have them

Vicky40
Those photos were taken on Sunday when we first got them. The girls haven't free ranged yet so that's why they are all sparkly clean still! Just waiting until the weekend when we can let them out for the first time...there is snow forecast for the weekend so that should be fun! We had a second egg yesterday It was much smaller than the first one. If as we suspect only Blanche is laying can you tell me if its usual to find the eggs from one hen can vary in size day to day? Not that I mind at all as am over the moon to have eggs so soon.
