Guest
I was round at mum's and got back about 5.30pm and Ian said, "Diane phoned, she's coming round at 7.30pm"!!!! Diane is an old school friend of mine who moved to Spain. She's visitng her parents and told me she'd be coming some time next week to see us and the girls but she's obviously decided to surprise me!!! I didn't have her Christmas gift ready as I was going to do it at my leisure tomorrow and make some chocs too but she'll have to make do with raspberry liqueur, pear honey (it's not really honey, it's pear and vanilla jam but it tastes like honey ), apple chutney, a (greenhouse) yankee sampler and a drawer scenter. I quickly printed some card in that lovely pattern I made the chicken in and placed it in the bottom and used it for a tag. I wanted to do some fancy jam jar toppers in some lovely poinsettia fabric I bought but just haven't got time Does it look okay? She'll be here soon!!! I hate surprises
Berkochicks
What's your address? can I come round with only few hours notice. It looks fantastic, I was looking for wicker baskets for my hampers but i think the cellophane looks very professional. Donna

Guest
thanks everyone, it's a good job I had most of the contents in the cupboard just ready to be packaged up, phew! She's just left now, she loved it She didn't bring me anything though! She's got her own olive trees and I was expecting some home grown olives at least Just kidding! It was lovely to see her. I haven't seen her for about 5 years or so, they keep asking us to go and stay but the timing never seems right. She lives near Jaen/Granada (can't remember the name of the area) and Ryan Air go from L'pool to Granada so we've no excuse really. She's been my friend since I was 11 years old and a good friend at that! I think we'll have to pay her a visit next year for definite, just not at harvest time as she keeps threatening me with paying for our board and lodgings by picking the olives

Blackrocksrock
I went to Grenada and the alhambra when I was about 14 years of age on the SS Uganda w ith a school cruise - any of you do the same? We went to Spain Portugal and North africa and I had also done the SS Dunera to Sweden Denmark and Poland a couple of years before that - sick as a pig both times . The alhambra palace gardens are something else altogether. I remember the ponds were full of fish.
