bluekarin
Now this is a long shot. I was in Salisbury Cathedral on Saturday night for their darkness to light advent service and sitting in front of me was an actress. And instead of enjoying the choir singing, I was racking my brains trying to remember her name. I've just spent the past hour (have better things to do, but its so frustrating) seeing if I could try and find out who she is. She looks a bit like Tamsin Greig (of Black Books fame) with quite thick short black hair. She's fairly tall, slim and possibly in her late 40's/ early 50's (useless with guessing peoples ages!) well spoken. I'm and sure she was in a BBC2 (or maybe 1) comedy drama about a shrinks office If, and I know I am clutching at very long straws here, anyone knows who I am talking about, please let me know, I would be most grateful Edited December 2, 2008 by Guest
Lydia
Could it be Alison King? I confess I've never heard of her but googled (yes I have a very dull, extremely boring job) and found she was in "Help", a BBC comedy drama aired in 2005. She's now in Coronation Street apparently (I don't watch it so have no idea). More info on her at: http://www.imdb.com/name/nm0454435/ or images at: http://images.google.co.uk/images?hl=en&q=%22Alison%20King%22%20actress&um=1&ie=UTF-8&sa=N&tab=wi

Joojoo
Caroline Quentin? Though she's probably not that tall and not that slim. She was in a comedy programme on BBC2 called Kiss Me Kate about a Counselling practice. http://images.google.co.uk/images?q=caroline%20quentin&ie=utf-8&oe=utf-8&rls=org.mozilla:en-US:official&client=firefox-a&um=1&sa=N&tab=wi Edited December 2, 2008 by Guest
Minnie the Moocher
I just checked the programmes of the Playhouse and the City Hall to see who has been on recently. No joy I'm afraid. Hope someone comes up with a name or you might not sleep tonight!
bluekarin
Harriet Walter?? Thank you thank you thank you! I just remembered whilst watching Pride and Prejudice that she was in one of these adaptations, and her character married a vicar, but for the life of me I couldn't remember which one it was. So I thought I'd have a quick peek on here to see what other suggestions might have come up and lo and behold, there she is! Thank you jlo once again
jlo
I am pleased that you will be able to sleep tonight! I saw her in Much Ado about Nothing at the RSC in Stratford a few years ago. She is an excellent actress. She was also (amongst lots of other things) in Morse and the Emma Thompson "Sense and Sensibility."
bluekarin
It was really hurting my head as I could see her face but to be honest I had no idea what her name was! I shall let my friends know as I mentioned it to them when I saw them after I'd seen her and they had no idea either.

Sheilaz
Yes, if you go to "edit" on your 1st post on this topic, you can alter the title there. If still no luck, I'll do it.
