Bertha my pepperpot has amazed me today. She is 3 1/2 years old and has laid brilliantly for the last 3 years. She stopped laying in October and had a massive moult. She has regrown her feathers and is looking really well, but I really didn't expect her to lay again, at least not until spring. But today she has started up again! Bless her - she is amazing! I think she can have an extra portion of corn tonight as a treat!

You know what???? If mine never laid another egg I would still love them to bits and keep them in the manner to which they have been acustomed!!! They're the best pets I have ever had!

I totally agree! My ladies have not been the most productive of late, but to me they are our darling pets, and the eggs are just a happy extra when they come! Daft lot aren't we?!
