Oh the shame!

Recommended Posts

There I was, having had a lovely soak in the bath this afternoon, only to hear a lot of bumping going on downstairs. I thought it was DS prowling around for something, but no, it was the window cleaner and there he was at the window. Oh heck. Thankfully I had finished and was squashed up at the taps to take out the plug, so I ducked down until he had gone. Then I jumped out and dashed into the bedroom for my clothes only to hear a knock on the front door. DS rushes in (thankfully I had my towel wrapped round me, and yes they do make them big enough even for me!).

"Someones knocking on the door",

"Yes, I know - it's the window cleaner, he probably wants the side gate unlocked."

"I don't know what he wants"

"He wants the side gate unlocked (hellooo anyone in there DS) :wall: I can't go I've just got out the bath."

"How do I know what to do?"

"Why don't you answer the door and find out?"

Argghhhhh! So then I hear "Sure, no worries" and he goes and unlocks the gate. Why are teenagers so dappy?

Got dressed in time to pay the fellow - who then laughed "caught you in the shower did I, haha?"

Ahem, his brother has chickens.

:oops::oops::oops:

That happened to me this month too! I had just got into the shower when DD2 knocked loudly and repeatedly on my door. I told her to go away! When I got out of the shower I asked her what she wanted and she told me the window cleaner had arrived. I turned back into my bedroom and there he was! And he didn't go on to wash the bathroom window, so I think he must have done that while I was in the shower. And i don't use blinds or curtains! And he's Italian. But he did have the courtesy not to say anything when I paid him!

Frosted and steamed up, Egluntine! I could see a blurry version of him, so I don't think he could really see me - it's the thought that he could see more of me than usual! At least he didn't say "I didn't recognize you with your clothes off!"

When we looked at new windows, OH wanted nice pretty leafy ones for the bathroom - I objected because our neighbours have some like that in theirs and it is quite possible to see inside (just once and then I quickly looked away), so went for the most frosted ones instead.

Ah, Ginette - is he a hunky Italian - makes a big difference there! One of our neighbours is Italian (hunky sort) and after a street party, excused himself to turn in - then we all called goodnight to him when we saw him in the bathroom without closing the curtains. It left nothing to the imagination - he waved and then someone shouted "don't forget to wash your hands!"

With regard to DS, he redeemed himself - by bringing in the recycling bin! He must be ill!

Fantastic :lol::lol::lol::lol::lol::lol::lol::lol::lol::lol: My dog hates the window cleaner because he makes a real racket with his ladders so thankfully I know he is around before I see him, as she barks so much :D

Well, surely you've heard the George Formby song ... :D

My bathroom window is frosted, but it's right over the bath so when you're in the shower you are standing in front of it. When I moved in here, there was an extra shower curtain hung over the window. It got a bit mouldy so I took it down, thinking 'well the window is frosted, who needs it'.

One morning my lodger was leaving for work while I was in the shower, so I shouted to her 'when you're going out, just look back and see if you can really see anything through the bathroom window'.

I got out of the shower to find a text - 'Reinstate bathroom curtain urgently'!:oops:

It seems that with the light on, nothing much was left to the imagination. Did I mention that the house fronts onto a busy road, which at that time in the morning is filled with crawling traffic to and from the station .... actually I think the traffic has speeded up since I put the curtain back!

we just have dirty windows now as we decided we it was too embarassing to be caught out by the window cleaner..and for him to see ours and our childrens messy rooms :-)

In our first house together the window cleaner had long blond hair (male) and was gorgeous...eventually he had it cut...ughh...it was never the same...

:-D

 I know that feeling luckily my two never open their curtains (vampires), but the window cleaner often asks if my ironing ever gets finished. Er, occasionally, but it does seem a never ending task.

Definitely next house will be a bungalow! My folks lived in a bung - until they decided that my brother and I shouldn't share a bedroom any more, then I had the loft conversion - oooh the roooom with the view! The windows swung round so were easy to clean from inside - except when I forgot they were open and I nearly knocked myself out on one!
