Egg Lou
it works! and she is most certainly a "U" shaped hen!
tom123
I think she is a Japanese bantam but I may be wrong! Hope that helps Tom P.S She is a lovely hen whatever she is!!!
Scramble
Lovely!! Very cute chicken! I agree, looks like a japanese bantam. x
nutterly_uts
she may be. I will get clearer pics when i'm home. I call her my bitsa bantam- she was swapped for my silky roo, so could be anything, or a mix of anything! She is part of the inspiration for my previous u shaped chicken post lol! Egluntyne
She is a beauty, whatever she is. I hope she is better at lip synching than her namesake.
Ain't Nobody Here
OK, I take back my earlier post - you're not going insane . She's definitely U shaped .
The Dogmother
She certainly looks to have some Japanese in her if she isn't a prue breed. The clue would be in the legs, which I can't see in the photo... they have the shortest legs of any bantam. My Fleur appears to glide over the ground because you can't see her legs. beach chick
she's lovely, and I do think Britney is an excellent name for a chicken!!
nutterly_uts
I think she has jap bantam in her, but she has, from memory, normal chickeny legs, so is taller then them! Will take pics from all angles when I get home, and we can play "guess what Britney might be"!!
The Dogmother
White stars are bigger (leghorn hybrid) but have a similar basic shape. their tail is more of a straight 'rudder' rather than a fan shape though. Yours has a white star looking face.
nutterly_uts
What makes a white star? I know the seller has a jap bantam mix roo he's trying to find a home for, so she is very likely to either be related, or a jap bantam mix
