There is an article in one of the papers today about this wartime book which Penguin have re-issued because of the current interest in keeping poultry at home,

....Although I am a bit worried about the advice to 'weed out the old and fat'.......

Apart from treating red mite infestations with creosote and paraffin, the info all seems surprisingly up to date.
