Nooooooo!

I've put my husband's present away somewhere safe and now can't find where on earth it is. I remember where it was before I put it in a safe place, but been tearing the place upside down trying to find it.

I really don't fancy trying to get round the shops tomorrow :(

I have done that too, but with a friend's one. I couldn't find it, but eventually it turned up under some sewing. Other than that I did start to sort out some cupboards the other week and I found:

wind-up toys to put in the bath

squirty toys

kiddie books

notepads

funny pens

all pressies squirreled away for the children. I'm afraid the books will have to go to charity now.

and I did wonder what happened to my turquoise mascara and now I know.

I am a terrible hoarder.

I am sure your pressie will turn up soon. Try looking in the places where you have said "I know it's not there". Fingers crossed for you.

I mistakenly donated a christmas present to my sons christmas fair, when I realised I went to the school and asked for it back, only to be told that they had split the contents and wrapped them up for the lucky dip! They said I was welcome to go through the lucky dip bin, but I would have felt bad about opening all the gifts. And gues what, ES won part of it in the lucky dip!

Hi

Why not give him a card saying somewhere in this house is your present but where I can not remember, so after Christmas we will look for it together.

Then you can have a big sort out whilst you look for it.

For a Christmas present to open on the day a large box of chocolates.

Best regards

Ian

I like that idea - you can write it like a poem - treasure hunt!

Hi Everyone

I am not a poet so surely some one could fine tune it, but I had a go:-

TREASURE HUNT OF LOVE

I need some help from above

Like a treasure hunt made of love

To find your Christmas present

Hid within these homely walls

Darling dear our love for each other

will help us find your Christmas present

Then finish with

All my love now and always

------------

Best regards

Ian

FAB ideas, thank you!!!!

I was out last night, and before I went I had mentioned to DH I'd put his pressie away in a safe place (he guessed I'd lost it!). I got a phone call late evening calling me a numpty, and letting me know it had ended up in some rubbish I'd put aside for him to bin.

He checked the bin bag just in case - based on me before having managed to put rubbish in the fridge and food in the bin  - and felt something present shaped in there. He did have the good grace not to look, and let me go through everything when I got back.

Panic over

dunno how it works but it does...

I once lost all my daughter's xmas presents, had to go out and buy more

she loved it the next easter when I was looking for where I'd hidden her eggs and found the xmas presents

and we found the eggs too :D

I've lost a couple of dvds my boys bought OH :-( I found everythng else I remembered buying but not these. Of course they selected movies they want to see as well so will be peeved when they remember.

Maybe I should go pull everything out of the cupboards whilst the 3 of them are off panic buying a pressie for me.

Hi Everyone

Perhaps you should safe the verse I wrote for February 14th.

Then what ever you read in to the words can be seen as a love poem

to our better half.

Best regards

Ian
