Any needle felters out there?

Recommended Posts

Oh, I should never have looked at this, it looks too inviting and I am not meant to be spending any money just now as I am currently on adoption leave and so pretty skint! The annoying thing is that once I am back at work and on full wages again I won't have the time or will to learn new crafts - typical!

I have a needle felting kit I would be willing to let someone on here have for nowt, as long as they promise to make me a chicken in return!

PM me if you'd like it!

Needles & variousMerino wools. I gave up as I kept stabbing my finger & it was extremely painful as the needles are barbed!

First come, first served I'm afraid! :D

Did you use a pad Emma? - my kit came with a felting pad which the needle goes into.

Emma, if no-one else shows any interest, I would be.

I have some of the fibres which I got from HobbyCraft (and the pup decided to shred all over the floor :shameonu: ) At the time I couldn't justify getting the full kit for yet another craft (DH goes :shameonu: every time I bring something new home!!), so was going to have a go with the traditional method using a bamboo place mat I already had! Just need the time now!!

I would love to try this and am considering spending my Christmas money on a book and starter pack from this web site http://www.gilliangladrag.co.uk/ her bags are amazing. And buy a needle felting kit. Let us know how you get on.

I went for a tootle on this website & found that she does hen courses....so I clicked on the link only to find not one feather on it! It was of course a bride & friends, just goes to show how my mind is wired these days - but so is my DD, she wanted to know where the chooks are too!!

Sorry, I've not been in for a while, as I've been poorly sick.

As Snowy says, I've done needle felting and also nuno felting. I got my stuff from a place called Wingham Wool, which is near Rotherham/Sheffield. Their website is:

It's great fun and very satisfying. I made some needle felted teddy bears.

Thankyou I think I will order some from here - it looks good

Sorry to hear you've been ill

Needle felted teddy bears sounds good, were they hard to make?

Hi,

They were time consuming, but quite easy to make. I used to make sewn mohair bears so had a bit of a head start. I'll try to take some photos of some of my felted stuff and pop them on here.
