Guest
I've got an old dressing gown (made from cream towelling) that I thought would be good to recycle into bathmitts like this... I thought I'd put a home made bath bomb inside (thanks to Missuscluck's daughter for the recipe), together with a little yankee candle and some home made chocs, tie it up with a nice bit of ribbon or raffia and put a little lable on it saying "The pamper hamper" or something like that Just need to learn how to sew! I'll get mum to show me

Chook n Boo Mum
Lovely idea Poet. My sister gave me a load of her almost brand new towels which were surplus to her requirements (didn't match her nail varnish I expect!! ), for us to use on the dogs (far to good for that though ) a couple of years ago & they have spent most of that time in the airing cupboard, They could at last have a new life thanks to you Poet. Have you got the recipe for the bathbombs? I'm sure my two would love to have a go at making some. They love the Lush ones, but they are soooo expensive, so are only used for a "special" bath. They love "magic" because it changes the colour of the water in the bath. DD is sitting on my knee & has just added her own comment, so much for her being ill !! Guest
courtesy of Misscluck 120g citric acid powder 350g bicarbonate soda 10ml sweet almond oil bun tin and papercases 1-sift the bicarb and citric acid into a big bowl 2-add the almond oil a few drops at a time, rub into mix with your fingers 3-put some paper cases into a bun/muffin tin, spoon mixture in and press down firmly then leave to set overnight 4-turn the fizzy bombs out onto a dry tea towel and carefully remove the paper cases, leave them to dry I'm then going to wrap each one in some fancy florist's cellophane and tie with a ribbon I bet you could use rose or lavender oil instead of almond oil if you wanted to or any other oil for that matter. Edit - as Trish says later in the thread, just add a few drops of essential oils to the almond oil. (Lesley)
Chook n Boo Mum
That sounds simple enough, how many does it make roughly? Do you make them fairy cake size or petit four size, I have both sizes of muffin tin and cases at the moment having cleared out a cupboard & found 2 packs of petit four cases in the back . The children love having them in their bath, they are quite fascinating to watch - the children's reactions AND the bathbombs!! I also remembered I've got a big piece of glycerine soap in the cupboard which I could melt down & add to the mitt as another pamper bit, coordinating the oils of course! {thought to self....Must ask Savonista if it ever goes off .} Sha x

Trish
You wouldn't want to add 10mls of any essential oil though just add a couple of drops into the almond oil. 10ml 0f pure rose oil would cost £££££
