Having thought that all our blackberries had gone,I have just found a new source & have sent the slaves (children) out to pick them all.

 

So, I want to make Bramble jam as its the hubbys favourite, but I have never made any jam before, & have none of the equipment you need for it,let alone a good recipe.

 

Can anyone tell me what pans I will need,& if anyone has made it before & can recommend a good recipe,that would be great

My blackberry jam was made with equal amounts of fruit and sugar. add a little water, then bring to a slow boil, then simmer for an hour so it thickens

 

i just use a large stainless steel pan and a plastic spoon!

 

make sure you "jar" and "seal" while the jam is stil very hot!

I have just found a nice Nigella recipe that looks simple enough...

 

Any chance someone with the powers could move this to all things nice for me....thanks

if you have bread maker, some of them have jam settings.
