Guest
ARGOS!!..... What on earth can you rob in Argos??!! 37 catalogues, 26 pens and an excercise bike out the window and that was my lot! LMAO classic! Cheers peeps. I dread to think what they have in store for me.... Tx And you be careful Tulip if you're going onto Oxford Street, be warned and don't use one of those portable loos. You know the type, you put your money in, the doors open, scented toilet paper, piped music with Nana Myscouri singing 'The White rose of Athens.' Then after your finish the doors close and the whole thing flush. I didn't know, i held the doors open for my mate to save money. He got flushed away, and they found him weeks later on Brighton beach swigging 'Brasso' and singing 'Stormy weather.' So be warned As said have a great time, and i hope you spend many happy years together x Edited March 28, 2009 by Guest

Saronne
for every one of us who turns things off, there's people like Jeremy Clarkson who go round their houses turning as many electrical itmes on as possible. He's admitted to doing this as he hates the green/environmental "brigade" He says that kind of thing very tounge in cheek - he disagrees with many things the green brigade say but he quietly is quite green. Really? Has he told you that himself, then? Saronne

Helly Welly
If you go to http://www.dynamicdemand.co.uk/grid.htm you can see how much demand decreases when we all turn off our lights
Tessa the Duchess
If you go to http://www.dynamicdemand.co.uk/grid.htm you can see how much demand decreases when we all turn off our lights I just read another forum that doing this causes really big problems for electricity companies, big power surges etc., they really have to do some nifty thinking at the National Grid if they know that at approx 9.30 everybody is going to turn their lights back on, to ensure that transformers don't break down. Also apparently it is not very 'green', what do I know I'm just quoting what I read Tessa
McChook
Well, I've done my bit for another Earth Hour - we switched all the lights, computers and tv off at 8.30 and lit loads of candles. I thought we (LSH, YD and myself) could sit in the semi darkness and talk - you know, a real conversation that comes out of our mouths and doesn't require a keyboard or mobile phone... fat chance! We managed one go each of 'I can just about spy with my little eye...' and lapsed into silence. Oh well, trying to have a conversation with warcraft-starved husband and daughter wasn't really the objective tonight, but it would have been nice Well done to all of us who managed to endure the silence! Another WOW widow! Luckily mine has quit that game but I am now a Warhammer widow. We had all the lights off, apart from the telly and the computers and lit candles. It got so warm in our living room I had to switch off the fire! I was a bit disapointed to see that Salisbury hadn't dimmed its lights. The cathedral was still ablazing

fluffyknickers
Only ones in our street too. I had good intentions of doing all lights and Tele but in the end we kept tele on . We ate some homecooked bread and had snacks with the candles on. I was also in the middle of cooking a ham hock so the Remoska was on . All lights were off though. x
