bluekarin
I'm not really watching it, but I just noticed he has got some chickens. Laughing at how he is trying to get them to stay in one area and they keep hopping back through the rather large gaps in the gate

Bodes well for the series,I think
Dodge
OH and I have been to this beautiful part of the Scottish west coast. Applecross is stunning and made us both wish we were going back. This is a 3 part series so another two 1 hour programs to go. If you did not see this last night, then see it on iplayer as it was brilliant. http://www.bbc.co.uk/iplayer/episode/b00j2nt6/Monty_Halls_Great_Escape_Episode_1/
chickencam
It was a great programme and he seems a charming chap, in fact we thought it was funny how he managed to use his charm (or maybe behind the scenes finance) to get other people to do most of the work while he drove around through fantastic scenery to get livestock and food
chelsea
OH and I have been to this beautiful part of the Scottish west coast. Applecross is stunning http://www.bbc.co.uk/iplayer/episode/b00j2nt6/Monty_Halls_Great_Escape_Episode_1/ I agree we go to this area of scotland every year for our main holiday. We do plan to move there one day! I agree with him that the west coast of Scotland is the most beautiful place on earth. We recognised so many places in the programme, I was transfixed and loved every minute of it. He's so lucky to be able to have the opportunity to do it and I had real envy watching him sat there with his cuppa watching the seals. MedusA
I absolutely loved the programme (except for the bit where they killed the langoustines. I had to cover my eyes). Reuben the dog, who was a rescue dog to replace his own which I read had died shortly before filming, must have thought he was in heaven! The piggies were gorgeous and the chickens had me in stitches. I would love to have an experience like that. The croft was gorgeous, once it had a roof. I thought the veranda just finished it off nicely. To digress slightly, I also loved the house made out of recycled tyres and earth on last week's Grand Designs. I hate how some people prepare shellfish like lobster. Saw a shocking video on You Tube recently and it stayed with me for ages. I watched the programme properly today on BBCIplayer and thought it was very interesting. Love his dog, how it chased its tail and went loopy in th esnow and ice What a gorgous place to live. Thought it slightly mean that the owners wouldn't allow him to put in a window when it had been derelict for years. Yes, I also liked the tyre house too. Grand Designs is one of my few must see programmes. I thought that the round house was slightly wasted as a bedroom and should have perhaps been in the centre as the hub of the house and then have bedroom wings going off either side. But thats just me. I did love love love the glass wall in the bathroom. Sort of sparkly
