chickenanne
I managed to kill my lemon tree by forgetting to water it (stupid me!). However the lemons they produce are absolutely glorious. i would say a soth facing window is ideal for them during winter and put them on a nice sheltered sunny patio in the summer. redhotchick
After reading this thread I am now inspired to attempt to grow my own lemon tree from some pips I saved from an organic lemon Should be interesting Does anyone know if they have a particular soil preference After reading this thread I am now inspired to move to New Zealand Oh OK, I might try and grow a lemon tree instead. Just off to dig some lemon pips out of the bin.

Blackrocksrock
I have been drying my Amaryllis out in the kitchen by the sink and not watering it and happened to see on Saturday a green shoot - wondering what it was I started to poke about and lo and behold it is one of the lovely lemon pips I had at xmas and had popped into the pot on the windowsill as they were huge pips and looked just like they were ready to grow. Obviously it was - it is now dug up and in a pot of its own about 1" high already.
